but I think Bethesda decided that this was a better method to use to compensate for the slow BD drive in the PS3, Oblivion has alot of content(still fit on DVD9) the good news is that Blu-ray has alot of space.....but I don't care how you spin it doesn't sound good when a dev says that:
"the PS3 Oblivion team compensated for the slower drive by duplicating data across the Blu-ray disc, making it faster to find and load."
This could be or probably is a isolate...
Of course they would say that. Thats like M$ telling us that we all need to upgrade to Windows Vista right now because otherwise XP will be too old and worthless after January 30th. ha,ha....lol, some people will believe anything!
...uhm wait a minute you wrote this garbage no wonder why it sounds so DESPERATE & PATHETIC!....you're even embarassing the "extreme Sonyfanboys".
uhm, well NO -you honestly do believe this rant:
"from the systems to the controller to the eyetoy, sony did good.microsoft is just expanding upon what sony already did.every idea they have is what sony had or was going to do.there is nothing in the system or what they are doing with downloads that sony didn't think up first.keep looking through those microsoft glasses."
-lol, and you say he is wearing "microsoft glasses", well you better check the per...
I agree everything does go up in price. I actually think both consoles are a good deal considering the tech inside of them....but the point is no matter what M$, Sony or Nintendo put in a "game" console people (casual gamers) will always consider it "just a toy", which means they will only pay so much for a "video game".....so unlike most other products including Cars which sell for "instant profit", -no videogame consoles have to make money on "t...
I can't believe Valve CEO went as far as calling it a "disaster"...I disagree, WTF that's kind of over the top even if it is about Sony.
The link isn't working.....I want to know what the hell it says.....arrgh, ***&^*!
I understand now....I agree, good post.
This is one quote that I found interesting:
"A fourth factor was the still booming popularity of the Sony PlayStation 2, which was often sold for $100 bundled with five games, Cai said. "Sony was competing against themselves."
-PS2 was very popular so I'm sure they would continue to sell anyway, but with a deal like that...hell its like giving it away for free!....no wonder they sold so many over the holidays.
-Now as for the PS3, of...
Wow, your Sonyfanboy logic is ridiculous....I had to laugh when I read this comment from you:
"Have you forgotten that FAMILIES buy blu-ray discs!"
-uhm, yeah and millions of families have been watching DVD's for years, and not all of them purchased Porn DVD's....so you do understand that they DON'T HAVE TO PURCHASE PORN BD's, right?
personally I don't have a problem excepting MGS4 will be a good game on BD whether its 50GB or 10...I've always said MGS is one of my favorites....and again BD is fine, but as you said yourself: "Larger discs do not equal better games." -So if that is true then MGS4 on 2 or 3 DVD's would be just as good, right?.....which is why I'm not sure what you're trying to say with your Blue Dragon comments: "then what do you think about Blue Dragon using 3 DVDs? Do more discs mean a be...
like what you said last time, and the time before that....or do I have to mention all their "isolated incidents". but you would never admit it, huh?
made just a simple mistake, BUT the problem is that they have made so many "intentional" mis-information marketing strategies over the last year leading up to the launch...hell just recently they said that they won a award for SIXAXIS controller...another mistake? OK, after awhile (actually a long time ago) people stop giving you the benefit of the doubt. I mean honestly what business doesn't screw up from time to time? M$ has done it, Peter Moore calling a "time exclusive&qu...
PS2 success does not garuantee PS3 success no matter how many times you say it. Brand recognition is a plus, but it can only carry you so far in the "next gen"....if I'm wrong then Nintendo would still be the dominant market leader since the NES, right? So I'm happy for all those who recently purchased a PS2, thats a great price for a console with a huge variety of games to choose from, but at the same time those are a mix of casual, new, and some old customers(replacement buyers)...
I can hear it now PORN saves HD DVD!
-BTW mephixto....thats not American porn, he did say that they won't allow *XXX* porn, which might mean they will allow "soft porn" or whatever but most Japanese Porn(made in Japan) is no where near XXX.
yeah he's getting old but he did do alot for the PC videogame market, its funny you mentioned that Half Life "put his company to shame"....and yes it was a great game but the "game engine" in Half Life was license from the one John Carmack created. -So he should get some credit, huh? Also he's absolutely right about Vista. I think its a nice upgrade over XP, but that doesn't mean its needed because XP's still very reliable and adequate for next few years. That said I w...
No problem. It's not that he makes console games or even alot of PC games, but he's responsible for creating/developing GAME ENGINES, which require extensive knowledge in programming. He has designed several engines, and texture proceedures, thats been used in the id software companies Quake series and licensed to Half Life and Medal of Honor, which all have ended up on game consoles. PC and console gaming tech are very similiar so just because he is primarily a PC guy, doesn't mean what h...
yeah I'm no mechanic but I bet those rotary engines would be a big pain in the @ss for even my Dad...since he's never worked on anything like that....thats why I said any car with in reason, but I get your point....and just to add on to this whole analogy, I still believe that given the right assistance(tools & info.) any good mech could do the job.
Its crazy that Sony fans can bash Carmack with a straight face because they don't agree with what he has to say.
#1. Sonyfanboys such as DJ, and others accuse him of being lazy or not "willing to put in the extra work in order to get the benefits."
-uhm well that's just your attempt to discredit the "creditable statements" he made about the PS3's hardware(Cell) because YOU don't like to hear anything negative about the PS3, whether true or...
There are NO plans for a 360 v.2, anytime in the near future...and early pic shown was from earlier "experimentation" from Redmond branch headquarters. IMO, M$ should keep the 360(hardware) as is, HDMI is not needed for awhile...and its funny because even older HDMI TV's aren't compatible with the HDCP protocols, which is exactly why alot of the movie studio's are hesitant to implement the TCP encryption because as a result they would be cutting off 1080p content from a large perce...
yeah but extreme Sonyfanboys don't count, 'cause as usual they're always wrong....but hey who's counting? lol
