So let me get this straight...
We dog 900p on x1 even though it's just shy of 1080p, but we're praising 1800p on the ps4?! Come on guys if you're going to dog a 1080p machine for not having 1080p games you definitely should be dogging a 4k machine for not having 4k games. SMH!!!
Well at least we know sony is full of double standards 🤣😝

The eyes perception is all that should truly matter when it comes right down to it as far as the graphics go. Other things like fps are game changers, but if a game looks beautiful on all displays and devices should/do we really need\use a computer to tell use otherwise?
Seriously games are meant to be enjoyed not scrutinized
Anyone here realize that Scorpio isn't just a beafier gpu but 4 more gigs of ram and a more powerful cpu? Y'all keep saying the gpu is just a small bump over at 1.8tf however your forgetting that as a whole the Scorpio also is going to have more bandwidth and more cpu power. If you don't think the Scorpio will pull off higher res, framrates, and also be able to have more detail and particle effects, then your just being delusional

Seeing as the addition of a uhd drive didn't effect the one s price and they outsourced the drive, how would it effect the pro's price when don't is just a couple months from releasing their own uhd players in January?
@kallisti
So what you're saying is that unless you have your pro connected to the internet it won't have any real purpose then seeing that all the pro features will more than likely have to be downloaded... What a limitation.
Didn't ms get a ton of backlash for something similar when the x1 was announced? Hmmmm
Well if your going to add more effects or resolution to games your going to at least need a uhd drive for that. Or in the case of the pro no data cap and a ton of patients for all the day one updates needed to download all the programing for the game to run on the pro. But hey what do I know? Enjoy your large downloads
Every gamer buys blue rays. What do you think the games are on.... Also you think they're gonna put all the info need for a 4k game on a blue ray? Nope a 4k movie doesn't even fit on one.
Well if ps4 games are already almost maxing out blue rays capabilities don't you think putting a uhd drive in the pro would have been a great idea so that the disc could hold all those extra features on it? I mean come on, what if you buy a game, install it, and the internet is out? Now you can't download all the extra bits of info that couldn't be added because of the 50 gig cap on blue rays. Or image this, what about all the people that live in areas with no internet? How are th...
Well I have over 500 blue rays, a 4k tv, and I'm investing in 4k movies now so here's one person. Personally I do use digital streaming, but the video quality is nothing compared to a physical disc.
I am a gamer and a videophile also.
I used to keep the two on seperate machines, but the entertainment center was just cluttered. So yes if I spend 400-500 on something I do expect a little more out of that device than say if I spend 100 on it.
So yes I believe f...
@ob1biker
How is don't not posissioning it as a entertainment device? They have 4k streaming, they're promoting a digital cable service with the PlayStation platform as it's cable box, and they've gone so far as to create a 4k digital movie service. Last I checked none of that revolves around gaming in anyway.
It was the Sony fans that boo'd ms for wanting to go all digital and now it is Sony that wants to go digital (at least video wise) now and you'...
Anyone actually read the article here? It's not an amazing feet as some ight say. Only the original portions of the game will be 4k at 60fps, the rest wont be it'll only benefit from the pro it says. We'll god bless it can do the 10yr old game at 4k, what a feet for sure. Lmao y'all will praise pro for anything
Well then I'm willing to guess that unlike myself you don't wish to truly experience the full capacity of what your tv that you played so much for can do!
Now that sir is a true waste of your money. Why did you purchase a 4k tv if your not interested in truly utilizing it?
@ Larsen.
Get a life! The one s has a way better upscaler than a tv! Seriously dude do you even a one s? Answer no. Do you have a 4k tv? Answer no (don't need to know ya to know that's the truth). But hey I do, and guess what?! The one s way better, by miles
I completely agree with you. If you have any amount of computer knowledge that should be the biggest concern. And if pro uses gpu cores for cpu calculations, than all it's going to do is potentially lesson the graffical potential of every game
No I do not think a uhd drive and hdr are fully taking advantage. But for decades now Sony has placed the PlayStation as a media hun, and personally if I pay over $400 for something I expect it to do more than streaming services!
There are more people and gamers that use their devices' as media hubs than there are ones that don't.
I used to have a separate device for everything, but that gets old fast. The fewer things in my entertainment center (especially in my bed...

Wasn't it the Sony fan boys that bashed the hell out of ms for saying that same exact statement 3 years ago? Back pain can you say hypocrite

It's coming in January 2017

Marginal over pc yes, huge over ps3 & 360 yes also

Nice comment.. However your limited to a very nonexistent source for 4k content with the pro. There really isn't much as far as streaming goes.
