The PS3 was overpriced, Blu-Ray is massively under-siege because of the slow 2x Drive and the $600 console, no matter how spun, was pretty expensive because of the HDD Installs. However regardless of hardware complaints, the games walk the talk of consoles and surely the PS3 will pull forward. Give me another MGS4 and I'll be like "$600? So worth it...."

I liked GeoW because the gameplay was solid, flowed nicely and was frantic at times too. R:FoM had that same nature, but from what I've seen R2 doesn't seem to have that "fluidity" that every great game has. When I sit and think about it, yeah R2 has a better graphics technologically, but I also take into account more than just eye-candy. Those videos look like they're still in beta (which they are). If that's going to be the final product, I'll pass. R1 was ok, but I preferred others. I'm very picky about my games and well..R2 just doesn't meet my expectations. I'll be playing GeoW2 this fall and probably pick up R2 cheap.

It's a hardware hog, but what can you expect? It's not like Vista can automatically be XP on launch day. Hell even XP wasn't well-received its first year and people moaned about Win 2k being the better OS. I still use XP but only because my apps work better on XP, nothing more. And the fact that XP startup loads faster. I have faith in Microsoft primarily because Microsoft solely lead the OS market and launched us into the digital age we enjoy now. Perhaps I'm giving Microsoft too much credit...

I wish I could say something critical of Microsoft right now, but well...that's business. Here's hoping the former Ensemble Team will push back because there's no Infinity Ward "postings" to save them this time because FPS don't really fit well into RTS games.
But what if SOCOM sucks? I'd be throwing away $20 I could've spent on McDonalds. I've never played a SOCOM game and Confrontations doesn't look promising. Anyone in the beta that can give their opinion?
