While I disagree with Bioshock needing any kind of MP, I do respect the resemblance between our arguments. My rebuttal would be that Bioshock is RPG'ish more than FPSish. I can't imagine how the gameplay would work without degrading certain features from the SP experience. I can't begin to try and figure out how to work out a Bioshock MP without running up some serious balancing issues.
Same here, I'm betting everything on the demo on Thursday. If KZ2 had at least Co-op or Split-screen, then it would've been a Day 1 Buy. But the lack of both irks me alot. I'm a cooperative player, you see.
Of course not, CoD4 didn't have co-op of any kind. Do a quick google search for "Call of Duty 4 Co-op" and you'll get alot of threads requesting it. The saving grace of CoD4 though was the fact it supported 4 player MP split-screen. KZ2 has neither Co-op or Split-screen. That's just downright criminal by today's standards.
Depends on the game. If it was Bioshock: no not having co-op isn't a flaw, the point being "you" alone in a underwater city. However Killzone 2 emulates the co-op experience by constantly being surrounded by allies 90% of the Campaign, so why isn't the option there? Both PSU and GT have stated clearly that they were disappointed by the fact that Killzone 2 lacks a co-op function. Sure Call of Duty 4 got away with no co-op, but this is 2009: standards have risen.
Also wh...
*sigh* I still wish Killzone 2 did have Co-op...or at least split-screen MP for some bot action like the 1st game. But well...I guess I'll find that "perfect game" elsewhere. Who here isn't looking for that "perfect game"?
I'm looking forward to RE5 over KZ2 just because there's at least "some form" of split-screen and definitely co-op support as well. I'm a cooperative player, that's how I roll. I can't imagine a single reason for opposing co-op or ...
FTW!
What the ****?
You can always kill Sheva off and pretend the zombies did it. Oooh! but then you couldn't get very far in the game now.
If developers get on board for DX11, we might see. Just a loose analogy.(see below)
DX7 did good
DX8 did bad
DX9 did great!
Now it's like this now...
DX9c did good
DX10 did bad
DX11 did ????? (Great? Pattern's there)
Justice or bullying? If it wasn't for PB, I would've probably wasted over $300 on games that I would finish in less than a day with replay value worth ****.
-I downloaded Crysis to see what it was all about. I bought the game the following week.
-I downloaded Assassin's Creed for the PC Version to see what it was all about. I deleted the game the following night and ran out to buy the 360 Version.
-I downloaded Legendary to see what it was all about, I d...
It's the entire perception of consoles gamers allowing HDD installs to begin with. With console games, you're suppose to just pop the disc in and the game will play. Now it's "Install first!". The complexity of consoles from having to know which HDD to buy for the PS3 is something console owners, especially the mainstream: should not need to know about.
However in 360's case. The fact that optional 360 installs can serve to help lessen load times would make installs wor...
Why is it that PC Installs aren't reported as news? Or even NXE Install sizes for that matter?
The fact that PS3 Installs are considered "news" shows how problematic PS3 Installs are overall. Can't argue with the massive amounts of PS3 Install articles on N4G. A quick search will yield generous results.
I'm glad you guys have money to spend on your PS3. I'd rather take the $100 from the HDD and use it buying more games instead of crutching developer woes.
Yah, but with PCs: PC games load faster than the PS3 Version every single time.
Don't compare PS3 installs with PC installs. They're not the same. PCs load directly from the HDD, while PS3's load from the BR-Drive and HDD. Yet PCs load so much faster because they don't have a bottleneck from the Disc Drive. They're not the same.
The fact that most people here are willing to excuse these installs shows how far our standards have sunk.
This is exactly the reason why I refuse to upgrade my HDD. I shouldn't have to buy a bigger HDD to make up for the developer's lack of talent.
That's too much for me to take in...wow. The only real thing I got from that article is the push for Multi-threading and emphasis on tessellation. Does that mean we'll start seeing more mainstream multi-GPU core cards now?
One thing that did strike me is how the article didn't mention any middleware.
Knowing the situation the load times will be like this (1 being the fastest)
1. NXE 360 Version
2. 360 Version
3. PS3 Version w/ partial install
4. PS3 Version
The games have proven over and over again that normal games tend to run better and faster on 360. Despite data rate charts. The only special exception being exclusive PS3 games like Uncharted, and I'll give Lair a nod too. It's impressive for a 23GB game to run pretty fair without any install...
MPU, that's all you need to know.
Youtube was bought out by Google. Youtube wasn't created by Google. Therefore your post is invalid.

There's a reason Microsoft holds around 90% OS Marketshare for the past 20 years, despite competition from Apple and free Linux Distros, despite the viruses and insecurities, despite Vista, despite competition from Firefox, and Chrome. Naysayers underestimate Microsoft's history and influence. Open-Source is not coming anytime soon.
Yah, I can start to see the potential MP modes like rescuing Little sisters. Now that I think about it. It sounds like fun! Instead of trying to emulate the SP Experience, the MP could've been something entirely different. That would've worked for me. I'm actually liking the idea running around as a Thug Splicer.
Bioshock 2: Sea of Dreams maybe? More bang for the buck!
