I think there's a difference between the US and UK demo. Some people are reporting no problem, while others are definitely saying there's a problem. Then TV setups come into account, which totals for one big headache at the QA Department.
I theorize that the UK demo being played on a NTSC console might be the problem, but I'm no developer: and I downloaded the VC demo from the UK store w/ no problem whatsoever which leads me to believe this is solely a problem with the demo itself.

Well I thought the controls were "manageable". It's awkward though just running by zombies and that Executioner looking for a place to reload, but I guess I'd rather have nothing else. It's rewarding taking down an Executioner with tank controls. To stream-line the controls is to completely change RE5 feels, I don't think the fans would like that very much.

It's possible that the XBL update to address HDMI-audio problems might be interfering with the HANA chip and reporting back invalid values under a given circumstance, thus RRoD. MaxConsole is a reputable source for 360-hardware related news, so I give it my approval.

I don't think Elite should remove the crosshairs. Everything else seems ok. But the cross-hairs is going to make for headaches more than a challenge, given KZ2's shooting mechanics. I'm not a fan of "artificially stimulating" difficulties. I want a real challenge like the AI being smarter and numbers being more. Not just simple weapon/health modifiers alone. Don't forget "grenade magnet" as well.

yeah, "hopefully". Haze to me was a representation of FRD's inability to cope with this-gen's standards. I "hope" that FRD will take into account the mistakes that happened with Haze and develop something worthwhile(not talking about TS4): but a sequel to Haze. It was a great concept! And I did enjoy the time I had when I rented it.
If it happens, then it happens. The reasons split-screen put forth are reasonable, but in the end. I don't care. Corporate politics is beneath me unless I am a stockholder or a financial interest. Which I'm not.
