More like they are indie developers making a PSN title. So true, no exactly an indie game anymore. Hopefully, though highly expected, they'll get to keep their creative vision in tact.
One of the things negative about going to some publishers is they tend to want to change your game so it's more marketable. I've read many times that Sony is much more accepting of a devs creative direction/intent though.

So they basically aren't going the self-publishing route. Sony's helping them with the game (publishing it) so it's become a playstion exclusive.
Added benefits included: Help from Sonys 1st party studios with development, marketing paid for/done by sony, a decent budget so the devs vision can be realized.
The upcoming big release Teraway has a heavy focus on those features so it is worth noting that a controller solution/option that has those touch abilities would be useful.
Not for me though personally, I want things like soul Sacrifice, Monster Hunter etc.

I didn't even think about how easily I could bring this to work an play my PS4 games at work. Was going to get a vita to do this but now, at a cheaper price, I can just plug the vita tv into a tv a work! @_@

Yesterday I predicted this thing will quadruple the PS Vita install base within a couple months of its release. $100 is such an easy to swallow price I still wonder just how well it really will do out here though.

The USB port might just be for charging the controller. Hopefully it can also be used to hook an external drive to the system for additional media playback.
Remember it is a console on it's own so it has media rendering capabilities.
They could make it compatible with the PS3 camera though, PS4 cam uses a dedicated Auxiliary input.
It's PLAYABLE at TGS. We'll be seeing direct feed of Deep Downs game play very soon, not just a "trailer".
There was a point during its showcase where a guy was controlling it anyway. The stream was terrible quality wise but DD still beats Ryse easily. It has the unfair advantage of being in closed quarters though compared to Ryse. Not interested in playing on a small screen but VERY interested in playing Vitas exclusives. It's like Sony made this thing just for me! ^_^

No, they don't have them mixed up.
The Start and Select buttons on the original vita are oval shaped, they are circular on the new vita.
I'm pretty sure they're holding the new Vita closer and it's giving off the illusion that it has a bigger screen, which is causing the confusion.
Just note that the start button shape is oval on the original vita. The new vita is in a holster because it's a display model.
