The Rare game could be one that uses the Avatars in game. So a family friendly title.
It was hinted at in an interview that there might be a Rare game that uses them. Which would make sense as they are the ones creating the avatars for the NXE

Not had any problems with the sites i visit. and so far loving it.
Just had a quick blast with the 360 demo version and it was very good. Track length is quite long on the track provided. And there are several paths you can take. Graphics are excellent, no screen tear and slow downs evident. Saw one tree pop in high up on a hill, but that was all i noticed.
The riders clothes flutter in the wind, and gets muddier as they race around.
Tracks are left in the mud but seem to do nothing the the actual track like sega rally.

agree with cliffy. This is the first game that i have played for quite a while. Over 2 days i put in over 16 hours. I havent done that for any other game in years. Usually a few hours at a time is enough for me.
The game isnt perfect but it is a good game.
I also liked the story and cant wait to see the second installment after seeing what happened at the end of the first one.

Not sure where you read your info but the HOME software is free. And you get a basic set of clothijng , basic living space with some basic furniture to put in it, However You will have to buy extra clothing to make your HOME avatar look more unique, you will have to buy more items for your place and even buy a bigger place if you want that sort of thing. You dont have to buy anything of course, but then you wont get that unique HOME experience.

@2.3 of course you would say that. You would say that regardless of what they brought out. Ms have said that they used the press conference to show what they are doing for the casual market and to help broaden their appeal to a wider audience.
Which is why they chose to use it to show off the stuff they did. Including the avatars, to again appeal to a much broader audience. You dont need to use the avatars if you dont like them, you can still use your gamerpic.
I beleive the avatars are there to show up in casual games for all the family like the Mii's appear in wii sports and other games.
As for the hardcore they are catered for as well in both first and third party games.
I also read/heard in one of the many interviews blog posts, sorry cant for the life of me remember where, but that you can possibly still use your gamer pic instead of the avatar. Need more clarification on this and if it is indeed true
