So yesterday I got a readin' some article about Mr.Jack Tretton, well, running his mouth a little bit. Now, I'm a big Sony fan, but I don't put up with any BS and the like even if its from company I give my heard earned dollar to. So when I read this, my first reaction was "wowie wowie there Jacko, time to pull in the reigns a little, and lay off the hollywoods". But that thought was seriously finished with, and I'm dead serious "the only way you talk smack like...

*dusts off account*

I'm the very proud owner of two 1000s. Will I get this next iteration? You betcha! Though I do strongly believe Sony dropped the ball in terms of software at the beginning of the PSPs life cycle, which I hope is not repeated this time around.

As for the article, its weak sauce from both sides.

Heard that before? Here is the thing guys, when there are games that actually come close to release like "Battle for Fallujah" (sorry for the mis spell if it is) then you know things are going too far. This is of course if you know anything about that particular incident. Or how about BC2:Vietnam? You are playing a conflict that was started by a lie, that the US acknowledged it actually said, but did not happen, the Gulf of Tonkin incident. But maybe its like that one guy said above...

thanks, that was nice. You might not know what I'm talking about but thanks.

I can say it with a straight face because I actually know something about programming code and computer architecture unlike the majority of people on N4G, or at least that is the feeling I get.

So lets take Uncharted2, hell lets take the first one. You know why this game looks so good, better than most muliplats (and yes we're still using Uncharted as an example)? Its because the code is written in a variation of PSGL, hence, MADE FOR PS3. If you took this code it would n...

...to finish reading that article with all the misinformation, or better yet, lack thereof. Its articles like these that continue to misinform people, and then said people, because they READ IT, think that they know shit.

1. Blu-Ray has nothing to do in this discussion. Media capacity, currently, does nothing to improve or remove anything from games. This is solely media storage and for today's textures it is not required. You will get the same quality on both PS3 360. Th...

The Haunted Mansion Mission.

What got to me about this particular game and scenario, was that you are a vampire, and up to the point the game makes you feel bad ass. Then when I was playing the mission, and the hairs on my neck where standing up and I thought to myself "wait a minute I'm a vampire...holy s**t". It was a gaming moment ^__^.

I was having a really shitty day, but your comment just made it a lot better. "Devil with three sacks". *can't stop laughing*

Devil's Third Sack: Potato Armageddon

on a serious note, this doesn't look/feel good. I predict another game without a vision (or the creators butchered vision)from the get go, just something along the lines of ..."yo yo, lets make a cool stylized over the top, over the shoulder shooter/action game". Land of the rising shovelware. ...

I respect your attempt, but that is a very poor analogy for what you are (or what I think you are) trying to explain. Might I suggest a "trying to run a diesel motor on regular gas" route.

I understand its hard to explain this type of thing in real laymen terms, but that just causes people that don't know to have an incorrect concept.

after so many comments, it still amazes me when people say things like "lazy dev", or the heinous misuse of "architecture" or "engine". Some people seem to have a clue, like Ju for example.

Summed up. NT went with an engine (unreal) that is build to run on the Direct3D API under DirectX9c made by a little company M$. anyone looking for a quick tutorial on game programming for retards can look at one of my previous NT posts.

NT: y...

okay. its just like a mouse in the sense it can manipulate a GUI with a cursor.

why is it not like a mouse? I grew up PC gaming so i'm all about the clickity clack of key/ms combo.

throw some money at Blizzard/Activision and reveal Heart of the Swarm for PS3 along with Wings of Liberty on 1 BD for $60 at E3 2011. Done.

It can do RTS. So yeah.

but the fact that you have to buy them separately when you drop $3500 on a TV is a bit silly (reverse logic for new tech that one is trying to push) in my opinion. They SHOULD be bundled with the TV.

the pc and 360 running the hardware they do run a architecture.

the ps3 running the hardware it does runs a architecture.
both different.

when a dev makes a game engine for 360 (pc,stay with me) they code for a direct 3d centric card graphic card and a cpu running 3 high powered cores. lets leave the ram out for this.they write code so the cpu is doing all the deformation calculations on the terrain for example and is processing the complexity of the...

360
cpu: power pc, 3 cores running at >>3.2 ghz each<<.
graphics: ati graphics card (memory shared). the important part: this card, due to the 360 being a pc in a small box, runs directx 9c. its >>api<< is direct 3D.
ram: 512mb shared, ddr2..??, 8mb...somewhere. total 520 or something. ram is really the only thing that makes the 360 a non pc (and the lack of a hard disk on the arcade models)
i'm sure i'll get corrected. :)

Refreshing, finally a good read article with insight and proper English. I can't agree more on what the author touches on at the beginning of his article when he talks about a disconnection. This is happening more and more now as I play games. Mind you I've been gaming for a long time and I don't know if its a matter of jadedness from over exposure or simply the matter of growing up, or a combination of both, that has made me over analytical in my judgment. Just the other day I go...

I got the first game because it was a tactical rpg with a very unique look and it was made for the ps3...very little into the game, after maybe 5 battles or so (don't remember, and as a side note I want to mention I was very impressed up to this point...) there was a cut scene with a small winged pig. ???wtfbbq!!! Its as if that pig encompassed everything that I HATE about japanese culture (oh yeah, and the fact that apperently there is such thing as "battle skirts" for some of ...
