I think its the capture method and the fact that it might be running poorly on the PC being used (not sure if its because its running multiple apps in windowed mode...) as to why its running like sh*t. As to the Kinect part, every time I see one of these it seems like more effort than anything, and an unnatural effort to get simple things to work.
On the Move since people brought it up. I was very disappointed that it wasn't supported, especially since (for I don't kn...
...and the retardation, including articles of said caliber, continues.
I agree completely. Now don't get me wrong, I respect the boys and girls at Bioware, after all I still think that BG 1 and 2 are some of the best games I've played, I just replayed BGII last year. Having said that, Bioware of old is gone, replaced with a Bioware that literally has a created this RPG drone machine that simply applies new coats of paint every year, while dumbing down its core systems because of "well that's what people want" attitude. All you have to do is...
3D enabled split screen FTW!
Oh snap! 3D enabled split screen! I heard of this. Nice, first game I think. For anyone that doesn't know, its like having two TVs in front of you, one for your buddy and one for you;you see your display for through your 3D glasses and the other see his/hers (this, from what I understand, takes the 3D effect away in place of being able to do this).
very nice.
edit: my bad if its already been pointed out :p
I've been looking forward to this game. VERY nice it has Move support. More games like this less shoehorning.
LOL
I'll go "along" with this without even handing out a hit.
Faith - Mirror's Edge (before the EA "adjustment"). BTW, in my opinion, Faith: one of my favorite if not my favorite female video game character.
I whole hardheartedly agree with consoles needing more RAM. But 8Gb, buddy....I know this guy knows his shit but this is just BS. For one, what CrimsonEngage said. Secondly I'm no programmer or computer engineer, but from my rather basic understanding of computer theory and programming architectures I would say 4gb is more than sufficient, and that is a 50/50 split on system/video. So in my opinion: 2gb system memory, 2gb video memory.
Yes if your lead platform is PC/, a...
Whatever they go with, I hope its physical media. These rumblings about digital only worry me on many levels.
The other day I read about 100Gb RW BR discs being available soon, albeit a bit pricey.
I'm still amazed, to THIS day, how the Sony and MS camps came to that magic 512 number. PS3 splits in down the middle and the '60s is "scalable"...but at the end of all the fussing one can vaguely say they are using 256mb of system memory. 256!? come on!
Anyways, not to turn this into a rant, I agree with you :)
I hope the next gen of consoles have a healthy bump in system memory, I suggest 3gb ram, but then again I'm no computer enginee...
Wha Wha Wha!
...enough with these "news articles" already. Been installing games since '91.
I don't understand how this is possible. What was reported before, yes, but this? I thought DVD-9 had a physical limitation of 8.54g on its two layers?
EDIT: I had a Plextor drive back the day on my PC that could write more onto a disc than listed, ex. 800mb on a 700mb disc, but could only be read with that drive. This makes sense as its something build into the hardware that enables special type of write/read.
My opinion on price is that its going to be $349 wifi and $399 3G. These prices are more than fair based on the tech you're getting. I don't think the price is as much as a concern for older gamers like me as is the software lineup. I don't mean just games either, you need apps and such for a piece of kit that is being,so Tretton says, geared towards "twenty somethings...".
Here is what I think might happen, but I do realize its more wishful thinking tha...
In my opinion, which I've expressed before, is that Move is just like a mouse but for PS3. Now before all the PC elites jump and disregard this comment as uninformed or console fanboyish, please know that I did such crazy shiz as 'dblspace'ing my 40mb HD in 1992 on my 286 12.5 mhz computer.
Everything is here, the precision, the responsiveness, and tactile feedback a'la buttons. So please Sony, toss some money the right way and lets see a Move enabled Diablo I...
@PirateThom
I distinctly remember watching videos on gamespot back before PS2 release and it being developed for PS2. In fact there is stuff on youtube if you dig a tiny bit.
@kyl277
Hence the "a bit douchie". Traditional, ultimately is relative, as everything not physical. Reading his comments including the ones from GDC really gives me the feeling that he is frustrated with lack of vision, and transferring that vision into a product of entertainmen...
I don't like business like this seeing this is how the PS2/Sony lost Halo. But business is just that, business, not cotton candy and lolly pops. If it means more games like Heavy Rain for the PS brand, then I'm all for it I guess. Plus I appreciate what Mr.David has been saying of late about gaming development, albeit a bit douchie.
Bought this brand new from Blockbuster for $14.99. I wouldn't mind paying $49.99 its such a good/different game, and one of the few multiplats on my shelf.
I along with others are looking forward to a sequel, but my fear is that it might be put to much through the publisher grinder, resulting in content by analysts and marketers as opposed content driven by vision.
I try very hard to be fair in this unfair world, but still despite all my effort end up being a hypocrite. Having said that, and pointing out my absolute disdain for MS, in this particular case, MS shouldn't pay a dime in regards to what happened as it was a drop by the P.r.o.mo.ti...Z (with a Z!) company.
EDIT:
and to that "MS being a ethical company" tripe. MS is interested in ethical practices as much as its investors, and investors care about profit...
Ahhh another "no physical media in the future" bit. Well, like another user mentioned above, the only true argument, at least in this article, is about transfer speeds, which is a pretty weak sauce argument especially from a founding guy of epic. Here is my opinion on this, and why it won't happen.
1. Any gamer paying for their internet connection, does not want to use a large chunk of their bandwidth to download a game. Personally I have a 60g/month cap with an...
"damage control article #1"
Even if it blatantly is, its alright seeing we have a article ratio of about 50/1 (fear mongering/damage control).
hmmm?
I don't like either, really I don't, but with the amount of shiz the intrawebz has spawned due to this topic, its more than founded.
