If it's considered "cool" enough, then anybody will buy it for that price, tough economics or not. If the PSP GO doesn't have the cool factor to pre teen and high school students, then it wont sell. Forget what analysts and reporters say, most of the time they are talking out of something other than their mouths, if something is cool and its targeted at that age group, people will find a way to buy it and it will be a success.

My gut tells me that when the demo's of t...

The 360 had a head start, the PS3 has sold more 1st year to 1st year, 2nd year to 2nd year than the 360. If you watch two people race a mile, and one person has a 1/2 mile head start than the other, the 2nd person needs to catch up, thats the reality of the situation. If both consoles launched at the same time, then the PS3 would be beating the 360.

Also with the price being higher on the PS3, thats like the person without the head start having weights on his legs as he runs,...

Some analyst said last week that Sony is probably not making any money on the Slim, matter in fact, they are loosing $100 still on every console sold. Then a day later, a retailer said they are making very little, but not loosing money.

It's going to have slow sales by some, then its going to sell great by others. These analyst do not know Ka-Ka! It's like thy are jockeying to either the PS3 will fail or the PS3 will succeed sides and acting like they know what they are tal...

I guess this means that Square will be paying more for each retail copy of FFXIII for the 360 vs the PS3. The gamble to expand this title to Microsoft's platform hasn't really paid off for them so far, sales have been pretty dismal for the other titles.

This game is to be the flagship title for them and Square is now going to invest more into each copy than they would have had to if they just kept it on he PS3. If the PS3 sales blow up the remainder of this year, then Square ...

....how this article comes out right at the time Sony is getting a lot of press.
....how Microsoft suddenly want to drop the price of the 360 now.
....how an Alan Wake video shows up when Sony gives a demo of Heavy Rain

I think Microsoft is really watching Sony to decide what move to make.

Its not shipped, it is sold to customers. Sony has been tracking that since 2006. And its easy to get that number from retailers though some people I've read seems to not think so.

The 23.8 million for Sony are sold to customers, not shipped to retailers.

is keeping the release day quiet on purpose. The more articles come out like this, the more hype Natal gets and potentially more sales. Smart but irritating move by Microsoft, and Microsoft does know when they plan on releasing Natal, they wont tell consumers.

All I know is I have no intention to jump around dodging fireballs for a couple hours. She can do that all herself.

Did she and everyone else who's pumping up Natal play the same game they demo'd at E3?

If a retailer wanted to sell it cheaper, they very well can. They may not be able to advertise a lower price but they can sell for a lower price. The thing is Sony will not sell it to the retailer for less money. What this means is Sony will sell it to Walmart at $180 per unit. If walmart want to sell it for $180 they can, but Walmart will not make any money. Thats why the retailers will sell at regular MSRP, cause why lose money if you don't have to.

If the PSP GO! is a hot...

Microsoft always likes to call victory before they even play in a game. We'll see how windows 7 really does. Remember, when Vista came out, it was to be he 2nd coming of the greatest OS ever, and it was a POS. They are having success with the 360, but Natal remains to be seen. Looks like this shows the real strength of Microsoft, the Microsoft marketing machine, and it's success for building hype for unreleased products that very may fail regardless of what is hyped.

They did lower the price of the dev kits for the PSP, that was announced at E3. What you are saying as an opinion is really fact, thats what the article is stating. And for everyone saying this will be a commercial failure, the new PSP Go games will work on a PSP 1000, 2000, or 3000. Plus there is already a PSP store you can access from the PSP it's self. For people who don't want to spend 250, the 180 model will do everything minus the "cool, new" factor.

The Hype is how they expect to sell it. Microsoft always goes for the big first day sales, and hype will get people aware its being released shortly. I would guess, though, that your every average person doesn't even know what windows 7 is, nor when it will be released. They need hype to generate sales, and this reminds me of, lets see, what was that called again.......oh yeah, Natal.

Articles like this that state the plainly obvious are increasing. Makes finding good articles very difficult.

You know, I think I'd rather spend that 360 money or more games for my PS3. That would be more wisely spent. I, personally, don't really get into 360 games though I've played a lot of them. They tend to loose my interest very quickly. Thats the reason I bought a PS3. That could change, but looking what direction Microsoft is going, I have a feeling I'm going to stay with Sony.

It really seems that the Gaming press is really trying to hurt the PSP Go!. Everywhere I turn, I see another article about it being too much. Shame on Sony for trying to make a profit on anything they sell. It's almost like they want it to fail before it gets off the ground.

The F-up thing is all the people complaining have no need to get one, cause the alternative is cheaper and more functional, yet everyone complains about the specialty item. People just need to grow up the...
