Great idea, and I am guessing many people will just keep the console instead of selling it back once they build an attachment to them.
I answer is not complicated at all, the lack of Single Player Campaign is the main reason. As a multiplayer only game it is still a great success but even having a COD like campaign would have greatly helped to immerse lots more people in the Titanfall Universe, hence the multiplayer would have been even more populated.

Silly statement. Try making a Mass Effect or Uncharted instead of a mobile game and tell me what was easier.
PC has dozens of exclusives genres let alone hundreds of exclusive games, and besides all multiplatform games are "exclusively" better on PC and this is the age of AAA multiplatform games and PC does them best and will always do.
Let any developers say what they want to sell their games, we know the end result will almost always be that the PC version will be better, simply because we have better controls, resolution, anti-aliasing, frame-rate etc.
