How is the addon pack with all the additional content for current owners of the vanilla game only $5? All the DLC on Steam right now is $48...
The only thing unusual about it is the fact it was revealed so soon and in a very relaxed, unprofessional manner. Many sequels head right into development after a short break for employees to live their lives a bit.
Why am I watching this even though I have no idea what any of this implies? C99/sddlib compat ... wohoo!
I started watching this thinking, "Oh c'mon, it's not that bad."
Finished it heartbroken, thinking, "Dammit. Whyy why must the truth hurt so much?!"
After 186 hours over about 10 months, I finally completed the main story last night. So damn good. What an experience! Can't wait to play through the DLCs and get at least close to 100%
I loved to love it. Still do. The pacing, mood, tone, graphics, music. The only think I was bummed about was the lack of the tornado and epic (at the time) physics. Can't find a better quality source but, here's Alan Wake at IDF 2006, https://youtu.be/4Fqb5VRtTL...
.. Try not to cringe too hard at their hyperbole over the hardware, if you watch it. :p
REDUCED development time of 1,000 man-hours per car?! I'm confused. I know the film and video game industry demands long hours and can be ruthlessly difficult work but damn.
Assume one man-day were only 12 hours, that's 60 hours per 5 days man-week and 240 hours per man-month. 1,000 man-hours equate to just over 4 months of focused work.
...right? I'm confused because this is an insane amount of time. I'm having a hard time believing my rudi...
The LOD scaling based on distance in some games this gen is insane. Close up real-time assets can hang with pre-rendered quality.
Either I'm tripping or it's merely nostalgia driving my love for this game.
Finally games are starting to look as good or better than all the beast DX11 tech demos from years ago. Remember AMD Leo? Or Nvidia Fairy? Next up we need NVidia faceworks visuals in an actual game.
Geez I'm nearly 200 hours in and still only level 24. In part because I lost a save and had to restart but I've also taken my sweet time. Need to be level 30 just to start the first DLC. Wish I could pause time around everything else and just focus on gaming for as long as I wish. Hah.
Just not taking it for granted. My only issue with the service is the pricing.
I'm sure a ton of work went into getting this emulation to work so well. Regardless $5 - $12 per game would feel much better. Seriously hope Metal Gear, Socom, Killzone, ICO, etc., make it.
That sucks. Maybe it's just that I have a good PC but I have had ZERO issues with Just Cause 3 on PC PROVIDED Vsync is off. 1080p monitor - no problem. 21:9 344x1440 monitor - no problem. Great performance in both cases as long as Vsync is off.

@ozmoses: The beta acknowledged this to an extent and claimed it was for server side optimization/prep.
There are even PS4 button prompts if you plug in a PS4 controller. Love the little things!
I don't think this write up is thorough enough. For example, going from High shadows to PCSS costs about 10fps, and from PCSS to PCSS Ultra another 10 at least. You can play at 4k with a 980Ti and a solid minimum 30fps + by playing with everything maxed except for the Nvidia Gameworks features. The visual sacrifice is not a substantial one. When pairing PCSS Ultra and HBAO+ Ultra, y...
I'd just like to see what certain games look like on an OLED. Albeit a tiny non-calibrated one. 0_0
Runs surprisingly well for me at 1080p but I have a nice PC. Turning on Nvidia Gameworks features improves visuals a lot but damn are they intensive.
Seems to have native 21:9 support but for whatever reason only 2560x1080 shows up; no 3440x1440p option.

Even if illegitimate:
The animations are really smooth! Image quality looks great too. Loving the small details like raindrops on armor.
