This is awesome. Kojima is awesome. Metal Gear is awesome.
*Sigh*. All this awesome-ness and I can't seem to pinpoint what's at once upsetting me about it...
Thanks to both of you! I think I can wait for even cheaper than $30. Just realized this is for physical copies only, anyway.
Is Unity worth $30 at this point? Or still super frustrating?
That Rex helmet though. 0_o
Tech demos are cool and exciting but I have yet to see a single case where the subsequent games come anywhere close. Square Enix Agni's Philosphy demo, Unreal Samaritan demo, AMD Leo, Nvidia Faceworks, Stone Giant, Unigen Heaven, Aliens vs Triangles, etc.
What'd you think the link is for? You should see what I removed.
Just take a look at this: http://www.wired.com/2015/0...
The dress in reality is black and blue. The dress as captured by the crap camera + crap settings is gold and blue. Everything else is a trick of the mind. There, settled.
This was funny. The internet is rife with nonsensical fads and fallacies free from the shackles of empirical evidence and testing. Such a loose environment leaves room for all flavors of magical thinking—much more than even Baskin-Robbins. Clearer heads did eventually prevail, I just wish more people were more curious and skeptical in proactive ways. Perhaps then tens of millions of people would not have to bicker over trivial matters, because conclusive answers are often readily available. A...
You're right to ask that. For reasons I'm sure primarily include refraining from spoiling too much, in advertisements, teasers, and interviews, what was shown was always cherry picked "wow factor" moments in the story. Most mild disappointment I suspect ought to stem from the realization that not only were they shying away from spoiling story and content, but from revealing just how paper thin the gameplay is as well.
In other words, they weren't dishone...
Based on how the game was advertised vs how it turned out, mild disappointment from fans who payed full price is, in my opinion, warranted. Based on technical and artistic craftsmanship the reviews are absolutely too harsh. Based on depth in gameplay mechanics, reviews in the 3/5 and 7/10 range seem reasonable.
If your game's focus is story, you'd better have exceptional characters and a great story to tell. Though the characters have tons of potential and are in gene...
Looks to me like the first genuinely next-gen game with an easily distinguishable leap ahead of anything else. Infamous SS and Driveclub are right behind it.
Sony is a force to be reckoned with this gen. Bit of a slow start but the fuel is in the fire and though slow it burns, it is getting hot! hot! hot!
Exactly what I find irritating. 'merica is WEIRD.
Anyway. Couldn't be more thrilled about this game being made available on a moderm platform like Steam on PC. Loved it on release as a young(er) lad.
The writing is really weird at times, particularly during critical moments. For example: (SPOILER ALERT!)
In the early gun confrontation restroom scene, after figuring out a way to resolve the situation in a way that the girl doesn't get shot, Nathan simply leaves while remarking "Ugh, another bad day!"
Do I even need to justify why the principle's reaction to Max revealing what she witnessed is completely irrational? There's even a post...
What an irritatingly unnatural social world we live in. The only thing uncomfortable about this is how it is controversial to any degree at all.
I bought my digital copy from GMG. I'm confused by the disclaimer:
"This game will be delivered as a Rockstar Games Social Club redemption code. Customers will require a free Rockstar Games Social Club account to play."
Will the key that RGSC provide be a Steam key or what?

I'm a bit upset, but glad Rockstar has the integrity to do what needs to be done to ensure quality. Better late than never.

He's using a 21:9 monitor! Grr, I hope they implement 21:9 support. I'm using a 3440x1444 monitor myself.
