They do advertise just often really obscurely and not very well, which is a shame; losts of adverts in the cinema's though they tend to be longer/ slightly better than the tv ones
but that was the whole problem witht he psp they released it a year before the ps3, after 6 months they shifted all their rescources to their new baby, a rather spoilt one that had everything going and as such was bloody expensive to make, and for us to buy, so they had to make a big loss on each one AND still (although poorly-cryign baby wtf actually scared me) had to advertise it to people. So all the resources shifted away from psp hence the lack of 1st party AAA games there were for a few...
@BABYLEG yeah but if you take into account the years headstart, and the number of xbox's sold in it's first year was higher than 14 million so considering that and that it's ahead in 2 other territories it's doing rather well I think? Being 14 million behind is rather subjective if your competitor only sold 15 million then yeah you might be in trouble but seeing as both companies are well over 60 million sold worldwide I believe then 14 million down in 1 territory really isn&...
no but you can't compare it to a dedicated gaming machine, the Ipad is used for social connectivity and business related stuff, and then gaming etc are secondary things it does. Whereas with the others it's the other way round. I can say "IOs Market going down the drain" because laptops and pc's outsell IOs devices, doesn't make it true yet my PC can do everything the Ipad can pretty much...
@GODZ KASTRO: No it's just a different device targeting a different market that pissed off alot of it's potential buyers with a high propriety memory card requirement ontop of a high device cost. Some people still thought it worth the investment (me) others didn't and will wait till it's cheaper. In the long term as sony make money on every vita sold they will make a profit on the device overall, which is all that counts as a company you really don't care if your the marke...
ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHHHHHHH WHAT DO THE MORON'S WRITING THESE ARTICLES NOT UNDERSTAND ABOUT BEING UNABLE TO COMPARE THE 2 TYPES OF DEVICES. One is a dedicated handheld games system that anyone buying is buying to play game, you buy a vita or 3DS for any other reason and you are mad. The other is a multipurpose device that is almost certainly not being bought to solely play games on, or even as it's main function.... It's like saying the console industry is dead b...
lol the [s3 has supposedly been dead since it was released, yet in europe and japan it's outselling the 360 and isn't too far off doing so in the usa and in total. I'm sure the vita will over time enjoy alot of success not quite to the same extent as the 3DS I don't think but alot of success in it's own right.
Tbf Rockstar games dlc is usually not to far off an expansion hell Undead nightmare is in my book, and the pricing is usually reasonable especially considering this. Borderlands DLC all resembled expansions and was well worth the price. i'm hoping whenever the Skyrim DLC shows it's face for ps3,(unless I find a way to get the game on pc first) it's an expansion like they claimed it would be, BF3 seems to be worth the money but most other games (COD is a prime example) have DLC tha...
no the main function of a ps3 is gaming, when it first came out due to the price blu ray was a big consideration for many of the people buying it but these days it's cheaper to buy a blu ray player and most of them are more advanced, everything the ps3 does ontop of gaming is a secondary function. The ipod is a music device you buy it to play music, the fact it can play some games was and is always a scondary feature. You buy a phone to make phone calls, granted with the phones some of th...
See I saw the title and thought wtf, then I read the article and actually now I see their point; I'm really confused why they are going silver age with this I mean arkham city was great and left so many plot strands open for a sequel. Even several of the side missions were left open :( The only real reason I can see this being because of is if Warner Bros are pushing for the inclusion of Justice League elements to try and build up more hype for their film (which currently I believe will b...
I like these guys... now if only witcher 1/2 were on ps3 as my pc isn't up to playing this :(
Nintendo found this out recently; I could've told them 6 years ago, a casual aimed console will sell you loads of hardware but a casual gamer will play alot less than a hardcore gamer; therefore they will need to buy alot less games so in the long term you end up losing money on the software. Wii is a great example; it came with wii fit one of the main reasons people were buying it, then people would buy what mario, mario kart and say zelda and that would cover them for years, and the wii...
REally will they, only if you believe people buy Ipods and Ipads and Iphones to play games as the main function... which I'm sure they don't so really in my book they won't be the worlds biggest gaming platform, the gaming is just a side function that most users probably only use out of convenience.
that's my point I enjoy playing Ipad/phone games every once and a while which is why I use my smartphone to do that, but when I'm at home with a tv I'm going to choose the ps3 (or xbox if I owned one)or pc (when I eventually bother to replace my old dying one) I'm not expecting the same quality games out of it which is why I wouldn't waste $99 as I'll already have a device I need that can do the same thing; same reason I refuse to buy a tablet it seems pointless when i...
I don't doubt it will get some creative games but I also bet that's not what the general mass public know it for. Most publishers and devs will republish their existing software as it's cheap and easy money from anyone who buys the device; infact it could end up meaning that many of the games on my phone currently free could become paid to try and cash in on this device if it sells well. However once angry birds, etc makes themselves known, that and the lack of gimmicky controls m...
And it still needs people to buy it, games that I can play on my phone? That my Ps vita can do better, that my ps3 can play but can also play the newest AAA titles? That I can probably play via my web browser; so many options so why, why would I spend money on this? To do something several other devices I already own can already do. I wouldn't; most casual gamers use their mobiles etc when they have nothing better to do i.e: they are on the train or bus with time to kill. Really can't...
It is a justified price; hence why i paid the price for my (currently broken) ps3 and my vita that I love. However if you want to sell stuff, justifying the price isn't enough you need it to have a price people can actually afford otherwise you can justify your price all you like but it wont stop you hemorrhaging money and going bankrupt lol and Ferrari's don't sell masses, they sell on a more niche scale but make greater profit per Ferrari, now i can see this is where sony are go...
The advertising had a brief period a couple of years ago for the ps3 where it seemed to know what it was doing Kevin Butler in the usa and just decent adverts here. Then it went downhill again; the live action EU trailers are fine for people who already know about the thing but here's the thing uslot that new didn't need convincing it's all the people that don't really know.... We even said this on the EU PS Blog when they debuted the trailer there and still they made a furthe...
He's right in terms of stopping people complaining and the media. If they'd drip fed a smaller selection of games too slowly build up the library people would have had the illusion of more releases; hell as Vita owners we might have even ended up buying more software, personally I quite like how they've done it :P if the likes of Warriors Lair hadn't been delyaed it's have been even better :(
1 next week, then a ps plus presents on the 22nd (my birthday! :D) along with another bigger title :p
