Blu-ray's already the new format, it'll take a bit of time for people to adopt but it'll happen. Everything will start to fall into place within the next 1-2 years, especially when the Americas will force digital television upon ALL its users and in doing so, will push for newer TV sets and introducing the new format.

"The one problem I have graphically is interacting with the environment."

Uhhh, that isn't a graphics problem, that's a physics and asset property problem.

Sony messed up by not outbidding Microsoft's 50 million?

Playstation day is mostly bout first party/second party developers and hardware news. 3rd party stuff usually appears at bigger events.

They will update when it's ready. Why tell us "we're working on it" when we already know it?

GTA is more successful on PS3 (on a per machine basis). Not surprising.

Just create accounts for every Playstation region, it's simple, and you get ANY content you want (minus the transactional ones).

I see a lot of people complaining about the colors and the "dullness" of the picture. But when's the last time you've seen a warzone with vibrant colors? When's the last time you've seen the War in Iraq with vibrant greens, red, and blues?!

Processing is the PS3's domain, it's what it does best, and it is a raytracer as well (Cell Processor).

Love Kojima. haha

Won't work, the cost will be way too high to include the drive, not to mention the royalty they'll have to pay the BDA for using the technology in their machine. Add 200-300$ on top of the current markup price of the 360 and you've got your new price.

Lack of talent in the programming department.

6521d ago 1 agree2 disagreeView comment

That isn't a lot considering the amount of units Microsoft claimed to have moved.

6521d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

Not a big deal if this is true, add 200-300$ upcharge on the console just for the drive (royalty to the Blu-Ray Disc Association) and the new SKU is pretty much useless. Not to mention the reliability issues with the new drive and heat generation.

Won't be able to do games on Blu-Ray either, so there's still that factor to account for. So gaming wise a useless addition.

A minor addition in the media category, but will be too pricey to even be worth it.

Anyone see that Halo/American cartoon on the GTA TV? Pretty funny stuff.

Gonna sell that add-on for 300+$ Still a better purchase to go ahead with the PS3 (since they all have HDMI ports). I can't wait to see the faces of ppl who buy the drive and find out they dont have HDMI outs on their consoles.

This is going to flop just like their HD-DVD addon.

Also, can't be used for gaming.
