@ Colossi: Sony added rumble back not because they had to pay 100 million dollars first, that's why they wanted to remove it. They added it, because fans demanded it, so they decided it was a better idea to pay the 100 mil than to piss off their fans. Your point does not contradict mine whatsoever, if anything it helps to make my point further, by showing that Sony didn't just respond to fan's requests, they paid for it too.
@yippiechicken: allow me to provide you with an analogy...
But that's probably the cutest thing I've ever seen in a video game. I gotta give it up to whoever came up with that. Not something you can apply to other games, but brilliant for it's own sake as a kids game.
If you're going to make an article about how the PC is pushing gaming forward, why not actually list some games.
I don't condone uninformed fanboyism. I don't even own an Xbox, but I have friends and so I know what they have. ME, GeOW, The massive archive of JRPG's which flipped the switch and went over to Xbox, SplinterCell is coming, as is Alan Wake, and of course there are plenty of Multiplats that are great for single player. Here's what I'm getting at, PS3 is undoubtedly better for SP exclusives, but that's no reason to suggest that there is no SP value to the Xbox. As I find myself saying a lot on...
They're worlds apart. PC gamers shouldn't be happy that they're being compared to consoles, they should be offended. PC's are, will, and should always be capable of more than consoles because they are highly customizable. I don't see why PC gamers get so defensive, no one ever said that consoles were better than PC, no one ever said that PC's wouldn't take the lead on innovation; those who are saying that in posts to this article are only doing so because they've been challenged to. Sure, eve...
Sony cannot be held responsible for Namco failing to follow through on Tekken 6 graphics. How dare you use those two images to prove a point about Sony speaking falsely? If you wanted to do that type of comparison, you should have used Killzone pics, but then you wouldn't have much of an argument would you?
The multiplat argument is old hat, and everyone knows precisely why developers have these problems, and that's because the architecture is different. Do try to distinguish be...
Not that I condone PS3 fanboyism, either, but if you're going to be a fanboy, at least be an informed fanboy. The list of PS3 exclusives for next year that are highly anticipated is longer than the list for this year, which was giant: GOW3, GT5, Heavy Rain, ModNation Racers, White Knight Chronicles, The Last Guardian, Agent, Final Fantasy versus XIII, Final Fantasy XIV, The Agency, 3D Dot Game Heroes, Resistance 3, and that's just what I can write from off of the top of my head. Xbox has a si...
Without the addition of GT5. Even if this guy is not a big fan of GT, there's no denying that GT5 is one of the most anticipated games for PS3 since before the PS3 was even released.
Why would someone make a fake video in low fidelity like this. Presumably someone was play testing the natal mechanics, and someone in the room thinking it was really cool shot a video on their cell phone even though they probably weren't supposed to. Regardless, this still does not demonstrate how someone will play a first person shooter, just how someone will move around in one. Still, it's not very difficult to follow through from here. Open fist is look, closed fist is fire, switch weapon...
It's not a run on sentence. It is a long sentence, but the separate parts of the sentence could not stand on their own since they wouldn't make sense as separate statements, largely because they have a shared subject; so, though the clauses are separated by conjunctions, they do not also need commas as the subject is not reiterated in each clause. Clearly you don't know anything about grammar. See, I did it again, long sentence, not a run on. Not every sentence that is lengthy is a run on sen...
The names are Latinate. The point of choosing Latin sounding names is to add an air of antiquity and authority to them as these individuals are supposed to be part of a royal family if I'm not mistaken. Someone already posted the English translation in a post to the article directly. Noctis = Night, Lucius = Light and Caelum = Sky. Not only are these names Latin, but their obviously Latin to anyone who has been in a biology class or taken high school English and paid enough attention during t...
IW doesn't care about research, plot, character development, or even balanced gameplay, and they didn't need to. They sold millions of copies without having to worry about any of those things, because all they needed was to create a multiplayer experience with fine tuned mechanics and marginally improved graphics at 60 FPS. They knew they could do this because they have one of the most iconic franchises behind them in name, and the predecessor to this particular title was the most successful ...
The whole reason why they released this demo was to get exposure, demonstrate the physics, and get some mass play testing done so that they can find these types of glitches.
Everyone seems to be getting defensive because they feel like the article was posted to trash the game, this article was posted to help PD, and I think they appreciate it as should everyone who is looking forward to this game.
If anything this just shows how minute the physics errors are in this ...
must not have read the article because they think it's negative when in fact its positive. His opinion of the games linear style is not negative, it's more neutral, so that's not even a mark against the game. If anything, this article assuaged some of my fears about the game and got me interested in it again when I was starting to lose faith.
I have been interested in this game for a while, but I just hadn't really been able to decide given that there are so many other games coming out soon and I was just holding out to make sure. Now I'm certain I'm going to get this as soon as possible. They did a really good job explaining their decision.
belies your naivety. It's a good thing to be in the Black, the problem is being in the Red. Black means your books have successfully been balanced. It's really annoying when people try to say something because they think its witty but in doing so get the whole thing wrong and show everyone that they obviously don't know what they're talking about.
It's really not that big of deal that someone called them imbeciles. Why are all these Xbox fans mamby pamby pansies all of a sudden. I thought Xbox was the console of first person shooters. It's Xtreme, to the maX, for hardcore dudes oozing testosterone from every pore. As soon as someone calls a couple of people morons for failing to support good games, you start crying about how they're being big ol' meanies. In fact, I'm probably going to get called a bully for even posting this, but I'm ...
And that goes for both sets, Xbox and PS3.
The video was posted for two reasons, it's funny because the kid freaks out, but more importantly its christmas so it reminds everyone who celebrated christmas as a child of what they experienced. In other words, it's okay to make fun of the kid because he acts ridiculous, stop getting all defensive Xbots. His own parents posted this video because they thought it was funny, it's fair game to crack a joke on him. It's not like he even re...
Not every game is going to sell over a million copies. So long as you sell around 300K, you're doing alright. 300K x$60 = $18m, and I don't imagine any of the games listed here had budgets of more than $5 - $10m if that, with the exception of Brutal Legend (not to mention games are usually more expensive in other countries and their currencies are constantly gaining on the dollar) so they've almost certainly recouped what they spent and made a little money. Yes of course these profits are spl...
