Well, besides what everyone says above (that isn't biased and baseless), the economy might actually have a part in the games being $50 (and the baseline being $40) now. Hasn't our glorious US dollar depreciated a bit since "last-gen" (or at least worth less to the world) or is that just me? I'm no economist so... I could be wrong.

Exactly. People don't get it. I can have a super overclocked dual-core Pentium (if those exist) and it'll be crap to an i3. Newer architecture allows this phenomenon to exist. Calling the WiiU out on clock speeds is like saying ssd's suck because their capacity is lower than an hdd, and thus worse.

Incorrect. Blu-ray was called a gimmick once. Now people know that 1080p is the glorious standard. The only problem is that PCs are pushing forward and 1080p doesn't cut it anymore with 1200p monitors and the new 4k stuff and whatnot.
Shame that cod doesn't use dx11, so although your point is valid, it's invalid in context.

Well sure, it shouldn't matter. But think of it this way...
Not all of the 7 billion people in the world play video games or care about this stuff. I doubt even 2 billion do so also. So 1 percent of the population is maybe 70k people of the total population and 20k, by my estimate, which is actually a lot considering they're only user reviews.
But then again, your 1 percent was some form of over/underestimated exaggeration so who knows how many people...
