@falviousuk
The difference is, Sony wants to make money giving as many people the things they want, M$ wants to make money trying to F-over as many people as they can.
There is a difference between smart business and greed.
You guys do realizes these type of comments just bait the hate right?
Just saying...
Oh so it's not a Network TV show like Defiance?
Interesting.
Edit to add, after reading the article again it sounds like the Episodes might be disk locked? maybe??
I loves me some Max Payne and dug the MP references in Alan Wake, I trust Remedy as a Dev but one quick question,
what happens when the TV show gets canceled mid first season like many sci-fi shows do now-a-days?
As stated in the article "Never forget how close Microsoft came to doing this, they sat through lots of board room meetings to get to that point".
I have said this a few times now, the people that came up with this crap are still in place, that mentality is still at M$ is still in place, all they are going to do at this point is go back in those board room and come up with new ways to do those same type of practices, they will just be more subtle about it next time....
Thank you, someone that gets it.
The thing is, if Kinect was this awesome all inspiring piece of hardware it would sell itself, it wouldn't be forced on consumers, it wouldn't be forced on developers.
Give people a choice, if it's so great they'll buy it.
I'll agree with your statement with one small caveat, it shouldn't be mandatory to hook up.
People can love Kinect all they want, it doesn't affect me one way or the other but in the same token I shouldn't be forced to used it because M$ packaged it with their system.
IMO it's a gimmick and a novelty that I'm just not interested in.
I'd also like to add that if M$ packages it with every system they may mandate to D...
I CANNOT support M$'s vision of Next Gen gaming at this time PS4 only for me.
For me I'd say it fairly important.
At the beginning of my 360 and PS3's life I bought everything new and never traded anything in but then over the years catching wise to how some if not more of the majority of developers would pull scams with their 5 hour campaigns, tacked on Multi-player, bugs in their games, their over priced shoddy DLC's and rip-off season passes I began to buy more used and trade in my new bought games quicker so I could re-coop some of my ca...
Exactly why I WILL NOT have a mandatory surveillance system connected to an "entertainment" system.
Like the old staying goes "Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean they aren't watching".
One of the wonderful things about living in America is our constitution right to free speech but in the same token some people should learn to STFU and that would be you Cliff.
It's funny when you were at Epic I'd give you a listen because I was a Gears fan boy but as time went on you got more and more out of touch with what gamers really want, all you see is the money side of the industry now, pretty sad.
Do us all a favor Cliff, STFU, you aren't...
It's amazing how all of a sudden we are their loyal customers when their system takes a $#!t right out of the gate because we refused to accept their draconian way of thinking but two weeks ago we were backward thinking and we had to #deal with it.
No, M$ as far as I'm concerned you made your bed and you can wallow in it a while.
How about we work on pro consumer thoughts and a little humility Um'kay?
It's nice to be given something "Free" with your paid Gold subscription but just like everything with M$ it's a half hearted effort.
I can see them now behind closed doors with their little charts and graphs figuring out which games sold the most and which would be downloaded the least because of it and which games you can pick up used for $5-$10 because the are 5 years old.
Again not really B!T(#ing because they are free (at least to the en...
I knew that when they showed it on May 21st at the reveal, it looked and sounded just like every other COD game.
Up to present I have played every COD game, the last 3-4 I was finishing less an less of the over all features, this last one I finished half the story line and didn't touch anything else on it, I'm not even going to bother with Ghosts.
Exactly, M$ vision of Next Gen gaming hasn't changed, as long as that anti-consumer personnel and mentality is in place there, they will continue their poor business practices.
Sorry if it hurts your feelings but Sony got it right, give the people what they want at an affordable price and you will do well.
Start out of the gate with obvious anti-consumer greed and you will fail, bottom line.
Personally, I think M$ needs to step back and r...
Umm, where have you been for the last 3 months???
Sorry, No redo's, not yet.
1. Make kinect optional.
2. An optional Kinect will lower the price by $100+
3. Admit you were wrong and show a little humility.
4. Fire whoever came up with these draconian anti-consumer mandates to entertainment.
5. Hire new consumer friendly blood.
Do that and your on the path to a redo in my eyes.
The simple fact that Cliffy B and his wife are driving around in matching Lamborghini's and he has retired in his 30's says differently.
Shut your pie-hole Cliff.
No I don't think we've won anything yet, the simple fact that M$'s hand needed to be forced (and still does with the mandatory surveillance system Kinect) shows they don't have the consumer's best interest at heart.
The simple fact that all of this took place in the first place tells me all they have done is crawl back under their rock and are hatching new plans to be more subtle about screwing us in the future.
For now M$ has lost my busi...
I wonder how hard the games division will get hit after their latest fiasco.
