Don't you go trying to inject logic into the political process.
I don't understand why there was confusion. They made the pricing - and the fact that they were releasing a free patch to coincide with Knothole Island's release - abundantly clear.
Your ideas are intriguing. I'd like to subscribe to your newsletter.
See, I don't mind combat. I just mind lazy combat. Where Lara enters the room and three bats just float over absent-mindedly before being gunned down in a hail of gunfire. Maybe they could take the Prince of Persia approach and limit combat to a few thoughtful boss encounters?
Yeah, they did Armed and Dangerous too. I'd rather they make quirky shooters rather than stuff like Battle of the Bands but I imagine that might have been an economic decision.
I remember Giants being buggy but it was definitely entertaining and a lot different from most games out there.
People pirate because they want the game free. I doubt many of them, upon discovering the game runs fine on their system, immediately delete the pirated copy and then run out to buy it.
I'd term all three current gen consoles successes, really. None of them has outright "flopped" and the argument against the PS3 seems to be just that it didn't outright dominate like the PS2 did. There's no Turbo Grafx 16 or Dreamcast in this generation - they're all staying afloat.
A year's worth of additional PS3 sales and the fact that Killzone 2 is more of a straight-up shooter makes this seem like a pretty good bet. It's not like MGS4 sold such a ridiculous amount of copies, either.
Boohoo. LBP didn't make the list. Get over it.
Plus, they'll probably have to wait longer. Still no release date on the achievement/weapon packs for the 360 version of TF2 yet.
Yeah, the Lost Odyssey trailer was definitely the one that had the biggest impact on me out of all ten. Maybe it's because it was the game I knew the absolute least about.
"A few controversial choices to fuel views, a few safe choices to not be laughed off the Internet"
That describes every list. There's stuff you agree with, stuff you don't. I don't know if anyone can be really good or bad at it.
The number of sales might end up looking lower on an NPD chart but games' relative sales (x game sold less than y, y games sold more than z) should be about the same. Many of the other games on this week's top 10 list (fallout 3, left 4 dead, world at war, and Spore) are now on Steam too. I don't think people are particularly more likely to buy GTA IV than these games on Steam so that would skew all of their figures to more or less the same extent, wouldn't it?
Similarities between two creative works? Alert the authorities!
That being said, the emphasis on boss fights and the expansive desert did remind me of Shadow of the Colossus a bit. It's not a "rip off" by any means, though.
Fun fact: Rosenberg is the real last name of Ayn Rand (whose work supposedly inspired BioShock to some degree)
Really took their sweet ass time making the port too. Eight month wait? Bleh.
The stuff on the list is DLC that doesn't exist yet.
Not to mention this is news from Friday.
I don't know if you can arrest someone for BEING a stereotype.
