he made alot of sense and cleared alot of things up. If there was money paid off to studios, i'm sure we'll hear more on that in the future.
but the fact remains, warner made a decision, and there is no going back now. It could have went either way up to that point, especially with players dropping in prices for HD-DVD, and exclusive movie studios support to both formats.

And if you can get the Toshiba A3 with 7 free HD-DVDs and use it to upscale your reg dvd's for $130, then thats a good deal.

How come Sony takes a loss with every PS3 just to get Blu-Ray in everyones home, how come I always see advertisements of movies coming out on BLu-ray and hardly ever on HD-DVD??...how come all my fav magazines...

a AAA game in most people eyes are viewed as a game with a combined average review score of over 90% and GAME SALES.

IMO....M$ should eliminate all other sku's and just stick with the arcade with the memory card, wireless controllers, 5 arcade games but include the HD cables and headset, and bring that down to $199 quickly!!! and just start selling hard drives, different sizes different prices...40gig for $40 and...
wow a new console already?? I've had my 360 since day on in 05, but now with blu-ray victory, I could see myself buying a ps3 for the blu-ray....but if there is ever a little talk of a new xbox by next year...HELL YEAH, i'm in!! it will be at least 3 more years before Sony puts out a ps4... so another xbox by end of 2009 will be the Ultimate gaming machine with no compitition for like 2 years and could easily blow the 360 and ps3 in terms of cgu and gpu.
All THREE systems are winners and it will be a close race.

As a Xbox 360 and HD-DVD owner/supporter I really really wish Toshiba would come out and say something positive instead of just saying they are suprised and saddened by the news, and Paramount and Universal not announcing any new HD-DVD movies just makes it worse.

I am a very loyal supporter an HD-DVD and the 360.
And YES because of Blu-Ray, the average consumer will see the PS3 as a bargain and as the better choice, but since the 360 will be hitting that magic mass market price of $199 very soon, Xbox should see a huge spike in sales.

yeah....got one over the holidays for my kid.
He loved it the first couple of days and went right back to the 360////although Mario Galexy kept our interest high until we completed it, and we still have to go back to get the rest of the stars. The game was awesome.
I think all 3 will be winners in the end, with no one having that massive lead like the PS2.
Ps3 will see gains now that blu-ray is establishing itself as the winner. People will buy PS3 for the added blu-ray.
Xbox will see even more gains when they drop to $199, and will always have the price advantage over the PS3.

goes the same with xbox games...look at the games from the first year compared to the last. Splinter Cell 1 compared to 3 or even Halo 1 compared to 2.
