ME, since I know all here is the announcement. ALL current PS3 will be $1 plus tax to make way for the "SHAKE RATTLE and ROLL" edition of PS3. That comes with a SIXAXIS with rumble. The new PS3 will cost $299. Also, for a limited time if you are one of the first 1 million buyers of the new console you will get to choose one free BR movie and One game of your choice. This also means games that have not yet been released since there aren't many to choose from. I only wish I coul...

31 - Trust me buy one.
I had an X360 since the release date. I waited till about 3 months ago to get a PS3. I played Resistance and it's pretty amazing. If you have the TV for it purchase BR movies until games come out. I know people say they don't want to play movies in their video games consoles but that is what it's built for man and trust me the movies are great. Apacolyto,Casino Royale, Departed are worth it. IF you got a PSP remote play basically turns your psp into a mini ps3. ...

I have had a 360 brick on me but I do enjoy the system. Think of this though. What if MS purchased enough boxes to cover the 5% failure ratio just to be on the safe side. Industry standard is 3-5%. Would that not mean they are below 5%. I myself am at 50% with one brick and one still working. But I know I am the minority.

LMAO. This is a joke I hope. Either way Sony comes out ahead they sell more units or the points are used at their store. I dont think it's desperation at all. I think it's an attempt at PR with little or no loss. Nothing is really coming out of their pocket. It's like Gamestop itself. When you trade in a system for store credit and buy something the store comes out way ahead. They got your money, and your old stuff and all you got was what you were going to buy anyways. Plus they mak...

It's common knowledge that production costs on electronic devices always go down. Look at TV's or anything else. A dvd player used to be 400 bucks now they are 40. I do believe however that Sony would be wise to pass savings onto PS3 owners...or potential owners. I don't think the fact that the PS3 will be the biggest platform for BR can be denied. I doubt there is a model dvd player with a 110 million installed base like the PS2. I find it interesting why anyone would want a stand alon...

You can store all your info on your computer and stream. No need to get a new harddrive. I got 2 300gb HD on my PC and all my music, photos and movies are streamed over using the internet connection. Score a wireless adapter if your pc is not close to you X360. Works fantastic. I do the same thing with PS3 now.

There was a post about the new BR player by Sony being cheaper. I said this could mean a price reduction by this holiday. Some people had a cow. I guess we will find out soon enough. If there is I will own two PS3 for sure! Thank goodness for built in wifi no added adapter required.

Anytime soon. It's much too early for any company to throw in the towel. Wether it be HD-DVD backers or BR backers. What I find interesting is that "if" sony does not lower the price of the PS3 wouldn't this move kinda be like shooting themselves in the face? Without alot of games on the market the ability to play BR movies remains a major selling point.

But all my point was is the first BR player was $1000. Now they are coming out with one for $500-$600. They must have found a way to greatly reduce the cost of the optics that play BR movies. I agree that the PS3 contains features that a stand-alone BR player does not have but it's obvious that the BR optics were a major part of the PS3 cost to begin with.

Possibly, just possibly if Sony is able to cut the price of the standalone BR player in half in just over a year. Could that mean they are able to cut the price of the PS3 in half in about a year as well. That "could" mean a 300 or so dollar PS3 this holiday season.

Being a PS3 owner I can say they don't have to do much to get my dollar. However, I am a pretty hard core gamer so I would not be a good barometer for the entire gaming community. I think that the PS3 is an awesome piece of hardware but I also have the TV,HTS to take advantage of its features. I feel the number one thing sony can do is keep the hardware build quality good. Manufacturing costs will get cheaper. The price will drop. Games will come out. These are all things that are inev...

Ok, lets say for the sake of argument that there are 20 million gamecube owners, 24 million xbox owners, and 100 million ps2 owners. Now being somewhat logical I would say that pretty much guarantees the wii will sell at least 20 million, xbox 360 will sell at least 24 million. I will say that the likelihood of the ps3 selling 100 million is way out of hand but think of it like this. If the wii fanbase doubles, if the 360 fanbase doubles and if the ps3 fanbase reduces by half all 3 consol...

The person who headlined this article is starting something over nothing. There is no official statement of any kind saying there will be no price cut. The only statement I saw was there wasn't going to be a reduction in production and that pricing is not related to that. How someone can interpret this as an official "no price cut" statement is beyond me. Maybe I'm high!

There isn't a stand alone Blu-Ray player on the market that is worth the price considering the PS3. Let's see 500-600 bucks for the player or 600 bucks for PS3. It's a no-brainer. It makes perfect sense that HD-DVD players are out-selling BR players. The trojan horse is PS3. Movie studios no this as well as everyone else in the world. If PS3 tanks the movie studios will jump ship. The game makers will jump ship and PS3 will be at the bottom with the Titanic. I still believe though tha...

This is getting outta hand. I mean 1080p is just starting to come into it's own and now this. I think the only thing that would benefit from this type of resolution would be a movie theater. Even still I don't think its necessary. I just watched Apocalypto on BR and I could see the pours in the guys face. I don't see why I need more detail then that.

This is what happened to me. I had a bunch of songs loaded into WM11. Some songs would read while others gave me the message you got. I mostly had problems with my TOOL music. WM11 told me my TOOL songs were protected and could not be streamed,burned....yada yada. Anyways, I deleted all my music. Then re-ripped the Cd's I wanted. Using the ripping options I made them all into mp3. Now all my music works fine. If some of your songs are in a wma format you will have to enable wma in th...

But as far as I know it's got nothing to do with Sony. If you try to get an upconverting DVD player, A HD-DVD player, or a BR player they all will only up-convert using HDMI no matter which company it is. Even my PC which is hooked up to my Big Screen using component can't upscale DVD. I have to manually change the screen resolution to play protected DVD's through the PC. I think it has to deal with that HDMI is the only source that can handle the bandwidth for upscaling. But now that my...
