back when PSone came out it has no analog sticks. The sony revealed the "dual analog" controller. Then the "dual shock" came out. SO what did people do then? Had both, traded, whatever. This isn't any big deal. I want a rumble feature back so I'll get the controllers when they come out. I may trade my present controllers in or not. But this is not the first time sony has introduced new controllers in a systems life cycle and I'm sure it be the last.

For me personnaly since I have one I don't think the PS3 needs a price cut. I think it needs more content. The hardware is just sitting there waiting to be tapped. Different portions of the pictures are appealing to me in both pictures. In some shots the close up part looks far better on Ps3 and the distance graphics are far better on X360. No doubt the buildings in most shots look better on 360 but IMO the mech looks far better on the ps3 shot especially the last one.

It is difficult to say wether or not Sony people have gone over to xbox. Remember 24 million Xbox 1 sold. I would expect all those that bought an Xbox 1 will buy a X360. So unitl over 24 million are sold I would not assume anyone has switched over.
Sony was not so concerned about the ps3 sales cause as far as they were concerned the ps2 is still a viable console. Now, with the x360 taking over that system for the first time an alarm might go off over at sony and they might start to think that it's time to move along now. That it may have something to do with the video game itself. I mean come on. Xbox 1 games are cleaner to begin with when compared to PS1 and PS2 games. The systems are upscaling different kind of content. Doom for Xbox live doesnt look all that great upscaled it's because the content is not all that great to begin with. Let's compare apples to apples people. Compare DVD upscaling if you want to compare the capabilities of the systems.

However, when a new console launches it does go awhile without having soemthing monumental. I think the games to date are as good if not better than what PS2 had at this juncture. But, PS2 did not have cheaper competition or competition with the library that X360 has. If there wasn;t that pressure I don't think there would be as many people complaining.

I don't see how a "hard-core" gamer would want this as the console of choice. X360 and Ps3 are far better systems for "hard-core" gaming. Crap man get a PS2 and an eye toy if you want to throw your body around your living room. I'm sure wii has it's place but not in my home.

Has always been a little dumb IMO. While a mid to high end PC can outperform a console they are usually 2 times as much at least. Hell the video cards themselves are as much as consoles. A person with decent computer knowledge can rig a system to blow consoles away. But with drivers and OS issues, graphics settings and so forth it can be a little hit and miss. Since the release of 1.8 I went and purchased a PSP for remote play. Also I downloaded a couple of old school psone games from the ps store so I could have some cheap apps. Remote play is frickin Hot. Basically anything on your ps3 (HDD or streamed from PC) can be played on the PSP. The downfall of the PSP (if there is one) is the cost of the movies. I bought one movie cause it was 10 bucks. I think 10 bucks is the maximum a UMD should cost. It's half of what a DVD is so it should cost...
I find your comment about proprietary formats interesting. I think its Nintendo that keeps there games on oddball media. I mean the PS and saturn were on CD N64 used a catridge. Gamecube was on mini cd or whatever when everyone was using DVD. BR is not a medium used solely by Sony. I have no idea what wii is using. X360 does not use standard wireless protocol. Every company uses proprietary components and medium.
How many laptops did sony sell? Sony laptops already have BR players in some of them. I think they could easily counter this toshiba move. I don't think it's a weapon at all. Maybe a flare.
Here is what sony needs to do.
Get on developers/buy developers to get content out in stores.
Lower production costs/keep quality good/pass savings to customers
Not listen to everyone...including me. (But I am wise).
