Microsoft is more than happy for you to play their games on PC, no need for PC owners to own an Xbox. How on earth could you complain about that?

Microsoft published Xbox One/PC games are exclusives. If you're going to be a dick and try to make a big deal out of PC gamers being able to play these games, then you can prepare the same headline every year. Console exclusives are what Microsoft will always make in the future, and honestly, everyone benefits from that. Even Xbox players.

"Forza Horizon 4 is on PC! No Gaeems" - That's a rather autistic stance.

God of War? While the set up was great, there were a few dumb or underutilised moments that nearly killed it for me. They completely threw away what could have been a legendary moment when Kratos picked up his Blades again. That Atreus tantrum was nonsense.

Do you feel it should be the same with porn films on film media outlets?

It was garbage. Poor dialogue and scripting, uninteresting story, combat was somehow worse than previous games. It was made by a B team, and it showed.

They should have included State of Decay 2 by default, game pass as game of the year is incredibly ridiculous. If it counts, then it's literally unbeatable as it has over 100 games, including Forza Horizon 4 which was higher on this list... It makes no sense.

Nothing necessarily wrong with that, every great game has people who dislike them. But these awards are too inconsistent to take seriously.

God of War doesn't do anything that Red Dead 2 does. They're both too different to directly compare.

I give it to Red Dead, simply because the story was consistently great, whereas God of War had some dumb or underutilized moments.

The Lenny bar scene was the most fun moment of the year. While the game is slow paced, it's still highly enjoyable, with plenty of fun moments.

I said one of the more disappointing, not one of the worst. People lost all hype for Fallout 76 pretty quickly, so it was almost expected that it would fail. Andromeda was a disappointment, but at least, like Arkham Knight, it was a solid game (at least after patches.) They're disappointing because they're sequels to some of the best games of the previous generation, and are considered merely "okay" in comparison. Didn't help that the trailers were good enough to suggest...

Agreed, Arkham Knight was one of the more disappointing games this generation.

Why versus PS4? Can't we just get excited for new consoles without pitting them in some pointless "console war"? Yes Microsoft made mistakes, and they're on the path to make up for them. But there's no need to bring competing with PS4 into it.

Far Cry 5? It's the best first person shooter in ages. Red Dead's a masterpiece, but due to the slow pace, I'm not surprised some people dislike it.

Actually when I was at EB Games on boxing day, I saw three people return it, and I was only there for 5 minutes

"The teenage angst and violence of Kratos was not something we were looking forward to seeing continue"
"An entirely more adult approach to storytelling."
"Not only is it now possible to feel sympathy for Kratos"

I hate when people disregard how good the other games were. The original had one of the best stories in video games, and to be honest, I'd still rate it above the new one. Nothing beats running up those stairs and...

Shrek and Goku are the most requested, so we'll ignore those, as great as they would be. I wouldn't mind Solaire, since Dark Souls is now on Switch

The first got an 83 on Metacritic. If it's an amped up version of that, it should be one of the better action open world games of recent years. Hopefully it'll at least be better than Just Cause 4.

An extreme example of how that's changed is The Walking Dead from Telltale. Won game of the year in 2012, didn't have much in the way of gameplay, and it certainly wasn't really a "fun" game. But that just shows that many people value great storytelling and world-building.

Of course, there's always room for a fun game like Overcooked 2, nothing wrong with preferring something like that to Red Dead.

The last two years have been great. But Zelda won last year, and I view Red Dead as a much higher quality game, and probably would have won over it. Same with God of War, but it's harder to compare it to Zelda. I'm fairly certain God of War would have beat Uncharted 4, and same with Red Dead over Witcher 3.

But of course, it's all subjective. There's been a lot of good games in recent times.

This was a good video. They're right in that It's not the most fun game of the year, but it doesn't need to be. That wasn't its goal.

Game of the year probably wouldn't be much of a debate this year, if not for God of War. I have no problem with either winning. They're the two best games of the generation by some distance, and either would have won in any other year this gen with ease.

Ah of course - criticising a PS4 exclusive must mean you hate the PS4.

If you like the game and disagree, that's fine, but there's nothing wrong with saying why you dislike a game. That applies to any game on any system.
