I am still pissed there was no decent Indy or Star Wars on Wii :/ Still no lightsaber game.
And what bothers me: some of the ports look and play best on Wii U, something most reviews just mention barely. Nintendo should push that fact harder. Any game that works on Xbox 360 and PS3 has an advantage on Wii U.
If I read VG Chartz right, Mario sold 710,000 copies since launch on 30th of november. VG Chartz also indicates the Wii U has sold almost twice as much as PS4 and XBone. I dunno, it seems a lot of the "fail" of the Wii U seems to be made up by the press and haters. Might not be the next Wii, but it looks like its doin ok. If You look ahead at the games of 14, Wii U has some amazing, mass appealing titles. Plus they are still selling 100s of thousands of Wii and its games.
I know Mario, but who is Pachter ?
What I dont quite get is this: Big N has been making games and consoles since the nes times, how could they NOT anticipate the time it would take to create HD games ? By the look of it the wii u should have been released one year later to aggregate enough games to make it a worthwhile purchase. The Wii was released after Xbox and Ps IIRC. I guess with a proper software lineup like Mario 3d land, mario kart and smash brothers things would have been different, I for one have NSMBWii and was not...
Nintendo is all about toys, and if You look at it objectively, all consoles are toys. If You deny consoles are toys, You are fooling Yourself. You sit there with a controller and shoot aliens, or waggle with Your hands in the air while playing Kinect. Toys. The WiiU is for kids, as consoles and games are, unless You really think that shooting other people on the head is a game for adults.
Erm, Mario hasnt been released worldwide past friday, 22nd. As a matter of fact, it is released in Europe THIS friday. So much for noise articles without substance.
Personally, the gameplay vids I saw of Ryse totally put me off. I am not 15 anymore, and the cutting off of limbs isnt that appealing to me, not even in slo mo ;) Whats fascinating is that suddenly Microsoft becomes Nintendoish except they dont have the IPs Nintendo has. Kinect is a toy for hyperactive kids (and cg artists to do mocap with), the resolution isnt "the key factor for next gen", the hardware is probably not capable of 720p in 3D...whats left ? I was hoping 3D would beco...
All I can say is that its still a good achievement to have so many games ready at launch for the new consoles. Its no small feat and requires loads of logistics and planning, and still: You cant have 10 games that take full advantage of the new hardware with new engines at all at launch, just not possible. These things take years.Look at Nintendo and how they underestimated the time to make the change from blurry 512x512 textures to highdef.
Everything quadruples.Call of Dury needs to ...
Its hard to believe that they still feel that way, but then it shows why the "industry" has a problem with their "products", neither then nor now have they really been put in danger by the game's lack of monetisation. It has a huge followership because it was awesome. I dont think it needs a sequel, though, and Ubisoft really does risky things, like ZombiU or Rayman Legends.
Now gimme a proper classic Castlevania and Metroid with that visual quality.
Interesting, why arent the characters in 3D, too ?
Where's "Space Wars" ?
44 million dollars for the development of GoW 3 ??? Holy maccaroni !
Something the WiiU should do out of the box. That is doesnt is a big fail.
Suda can do only one kind of game, right ?
Totally agreed, I played it 5 minutes then it was gone from my PS3.
Monster Hunter will be my MP game of choice, not this crap.
Looks like the same happened with KZ1 as happened with PoP: ported to HD looses 50% of its style and atmosphere. Its too clean, where is all the grit, dirt and fog ?
Thats been the second attempt of Guido Henkel to kickstart a game :( The guy helped create Planescape Torment and the Northland Trilogy (TDE).
