Who cares if it was delayed, it could be delayed a month if it has to be, the point being made here is did Sony handle the public portion of this in the proper manner.
Did you read the article? It's neutral, not picking any side, it just puts both sides out their letting the viewer decide.
A good point which is also mentioned in the article, if this does end up backfiring on Sony (which it might considering how far this has escaladed) it will probably be for that very reason.
I don't see this article going well :/
Insane! If the EA/Take Two merger were to be decided on a fist fight between Zelnick and Riccitiello the matter could have been resolved faster if the same if not better outcome!
aceitman: It makes no sense! All your questions are answered in the post, it goes over the storage limitations, it goes over WHAT is needed for games to be run off a USB device, I really don't know what more I can say, your questions are already answered in the article.
I am going through the game atm for review has well, and due to the technical problems I really can't see myself giving it higher than a 7 like most reviewers have.
But to each his own,
aceitman: You have completly missed the point of this article, It looks like all you did was read the title and "metal gear solid 4, Xbox 360" and gave your opinion.
Gondee: Your right it will have it's limitations, but the USB port is really the only solution Microsoft has if they decide to do something about the complaints.
I agree, I would take either a harddrive or presumably a HD DVD drive from the getgo.
Yes, in reference to the fact that MGS 4 is a huge game, the actual article says nothing about MGS 4 being ported to the 360 aside from the what if sentence on top.
Prices come down rapidly, plus if such a system is devised no other method would be avialable other then something that uses the USB port.
Wait a minute, a similar thing had happened with a original Xbox fighting game, I forgot what it was called but the sound track also had verses from the Qur'an and it was recalled after being shipped because of protests from such groups. So in Sonys defense, they were probably trying to avoid a similar situation.
Now I can definitely tell you didn't read the article!
You can wait but the DRM is never coming off, possibly loosened just a bit but that will be about it.
Good to know you take time to read and understand articles.
It never claims use a USB HDD, it claims a game can be put onto a USB device for playback on the Xbox 360. It never says anything about the consumer doing such a thing, only the developers.
Good job!
I was waiting for them to compare Daikatana to R2,
Since the getgo Bungie has stated on more than one occasion Halo 3 wouldn't have "breath taking" graphics like those in Gears. They said this even before a screeenshot was shown to the press or public, nothing but flame bait.
Well I guess you should have bought a bit faster :p
Another possiblity is when they licensed it the game was only licensed for a few months. But I doubt that since it's not very common for such things to happen with games on a online distribution center.
Plus considering how Midways stock has been below $5 for a hella long time and they've been losing money ever since the Dreamcast, I think they wouldn't have been quick to put such a restriction on it.
According to Wikipedia the song is called "Dream" by the "Pied Pipers", I personally liked Beyond The Sea better. Bioshock and the Movie "Beyond The Sea" really introduced Bobby Darin to a new generation which is pretty cool.
