I think it was the Rebel FM podcast who basically said it was because of the PSN infrastructure towards multiplatform games. I don't know how impactful this is since I'm not a developer.

So is it safe to say Mini Nova is officially dead?

Bit Torrent
Pirate Bay
Mininova

Publishers, developers, movie studios, and just about everyone else that was pissed off must be really happy right now.

A failure? How big a success was the Eye Toy, Playstation Eye, Xbox Vision Cam, etc? Regardless Sega still made the product that was released to market, their are even tech demos available showcasing the camera being used in games.

Avatar failure? You mean the grandfather of 3D horror games? A game that sold over 1.2 million copies in the first month of release? The game that essentially saved Atari? Yea, you're right, by your book anything that doesn't sell 5 million must be ...

Gamers just want to play games, only fanboys argue about new ips, exclusives, etc. If DLC will add more content to a game you played why argue?

Assuming it uses the same tech, Treyarch got it running on the Wii, since they upgraded the engine IW made I assume they will borrow resources from them. The tools are already their for a Wii port, how well did World at War do on the Wii? In the end Activision decides what platforms, not the developer, if their is money then Activision will do it.

Just a mass reply to everyone calling this a "Eyetoy rip off", disregarding the fact that these are different techs, the Eyetoy was a "rip off" of the Dreameye for the Dreamcast.

Without buying them they can switch sides, also buying a company will help in the long run and have a impact on stocks. Keep in mind for tech like this the use can expand beyond the games division and into other Microsoft ventures.

Here's a list of Microsoft acquisitions, many of these became successful only after Microsoft had bought them. Others were either merged into other development teams.

In Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway you play through a losing battle yet that game was well received. Gamers won't care as long as you have a good intriguing storyline. Call of Duty is never known for deep storylines showing you how horrible many of the battles you fight in are or even the effects it's having on the people you fight along side.

Sounds about right, I enjoyed playing the Afro Samurai demo, want to eventually pick up the game.

I disagree, WWII is still in the minds of many people who were touched by it, you don't have to have been alive then to feel the pain people worldwide were suffering during the war. Developers aren't even able to get World War II right, Vietnam will just be another cash in Call of Duty title with little historical context behind it and kick ass gameplay.

Oh but of course that won't stop them from labeling it "The Most Realistic Warfare Experience EVER"....

Interesting, who would have thought one of the most recognized companies in the world today started because of Atari!

Its getting mixed ranging from 5-8's, it's also on the PC.

lol Steven, you sure made him look stupid.

And Pennywise, "but he has", what on earth are you talking about, that makes no sense!

Why do you assume he is referring to MGS4?

No knock against COD or anything, I mean the series is still fun but some more realism wouldn't hurt.

Reviews are definitely mixed for this game, they should release a demo, a try before you buy scenario.

6260d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

You're right, I wish other games set in real wars could try and do this. The fact that you can kill 100s in a game already takes away from the realism factor, the least they can try to do is get other aspects right.

Most definitely, their are stories to be told, the least developers can do is try to respect them to the extent a video game can.

The fact that the game attempts to look at the German perspective, both sides of the German perspective is good enough for me. I had this game figured out all wrong but this review convinced me otherwise. Velvet Assassin is now definitely on my list.

Murrker: Why would Sony "release exclusivity" for GTA IV because of install base? Wouldn't they keep it because lets face it, GTA when exclusive can push consoles.
