Its definitely my top game of the year so far.
Sure the January-February Wii U drought sucked, but its officially over for me, I'm going to be glued to MH3U until the end of the year.
So Nintendo, take your time to make sure Pikmin 3 is polished, MH3U will carry your system until then ;)
say what? If Nintendo could release big games on the Wii U it would already... The reason why the 3DS is getting massive support right now is because all these games being released for the 3DS today, were put into development 1-3 years ago and are finally ready for release.

You are cray cray if you think Nintendo should just be a third wheel...> The only reason their console is worth the purchase because of the unique content you can only get on their system.... have you played any Nintendo games lately? They don't exactly need beefier specs to make the game look good. Most of that power would have just sat their idle. And if you think extra horsepower would have drew in 3rd party devs, you are again, crazy.

@NathanExplosion, Nintendo is a smaller company than Sony though. They sell their systems at or near cost, while Sony and Microsoft take a loss leader approach.
Nintendo selling 20 million consoles is far more successful then Sony selling 75 million consoles.... The only thing that matters is profit, and Nintendo gets that from no matter the number of systems they sell at, while Sony will never see a profit unless they sell over 80 million systems in 4 years.... The 8gb of GDDR5 provides high bandwidth, but the system is still locked at the speed of the CPU/GPU which are nothing to really brag about... The CPU is a low end low power consumption CPU designed with ultrabooks and tablets in mind (AMD Jaguar) and the GPU is on the pretty mid to low performance side (Radeon 7850).... and by the time the system actually launches late this year, it will be considered a low end GPU.

See and thats what Nintendo doom and gloomers are forgetting, that even these "terrible" sales, the Wii U still has sold more than Xbox360/PS3 did in their first 5 months, not by much, but still sold more.
After its been on the market for a year we will get a better picture of where its going, anyone claiming its dead before its had a full year on the market really doesn't understand hardware, the industry or business.

The only people suggesting to get rid of the gamepad are the people who haven't spent any amount of time... within days it become apparent why they added as standard.... but the problem is how do you communicate that value to potential consumers? go door to door to give people a 3 day demo?? thats not feasible...... So Nintendo has their marketing work cut out for them on this one. Difficult? VERY. Impossible? No way.

Agreed... Amazon gave me 20$ off the 3DS version when I preordered the Wii U version.. If people can't afford $20 then maybe they should spend less time playing games and maybe take a class or two to increase their salary... I mean flipping burgers isn't sufficient enough to fund a hobby such as video games.
@DivineAssault, this isn't Nintendo's fault, Monster Hunter 3 is a Capcom game. They decide if they want to sell two seperate copies or not, not Nintendo.
Hmmm. I guess I'm one of those few people, because I didn't even have to think about it, just preordered both (being my first monster hunter game as well, the demo was alot of fun)
I can see why some westerners wont like the game because it isn't a dudebro game. Here in America if a game isn't a sports, a shooter or hack and slash game it flops...
But mostly dudebro gamers probably would just stick with their dudebro60's and dudebrostation...

Maybe coming from a PC background I have over 20 years of playing shooters... I'm just not impressed by console games (90%+ are shooters) ... The genre needs to be laid to rest.
I guess because I was playing shooters back when console gamers were arguing how great Sonic the hedgehog looked on the Sega Genesis.... takes a lot to impress me.

Sorry not even in the least bit impressed... Maybe Microsoft will have something better to show us... Judging by the demos Sony showed us, if this is really "nextgen" then PC's have been doing "Nextgen" for several years now.

The demo from KZ4 was a pretty big let down... Sony fangirls were pumping how the PS4 will leap frog PC's in graphics, and then the KZ4 demo is shown, and its like an impotent old man where nothing but dust puffs out.

Nintendo is by far the most creative and innovative company when it comes to gameplay.... PC has the eye candy and Nintendo has the gameplay.

Any device will brick if it loses power while its updating its firmware, including iOS devices and android deviecs... its not something specific just to Nintendo.
