The graphics won't improve over time this generation. Developers already know how to squeeze every last bit of juice out of the x86 architecture. There is no secret sauce like previous generations where devs had to learn how to use the cell or a PowerPC over time.
Devs have been using x86 for 3 decades now, every single corners trick or juice has been discovered already. What you see is what you get for the entire gen.... Maybe you might get slight, marginal improvements ...
Linear games are easier to hide all of that... The fact no ps4 exclusives are 60fps tells me these are low end devices.. These systems are just no where close to where people were pumping them up to be.
And this idea that the games will get better over time won't happen. The new consoles are x86 based. Developers already know how to squeeze everything out of them.... Consoles normally use very non-standard hardware where developers can learn more about the architecture ov...
I'd go with the PC version if I were you. The PS4 version is already confirmed gimped.
Look on the bright side. If the PC version gets gimped too, the modding community will fix it within time. So it will eventually be brought up to par with E3 version
The new consoles just can't handle next gen. The division will be downgraded on the sub-Nextgen twins as well. Bank on it.
Tablet CPU (AMD Jaguar 1.6ghz)
Radeon 7850 was a midrange GPU over two years ago. Today it's a $100 budget GPU. By the end of the year they will be integrating it into motherboards if they haven't started already.
I think people are pumping up these console well past what they are capable of. And then are disappointed ...
Because the PS4 is low end tech. Everything has received a visual downgrade since initial reveals.... Deep Down got a significant downgrade, Shadowfall, and infamous so far have been downgraded.
I suspect it's the tablet CPU. It's not designed to do floating point operations like your standard CPU in a PC so games with heavy AI will need the GPU to assist in floating point operations, which means less cycles dedicated to graphics rendering, which makes perfect sense. ...
The one with the orange car that looks like a PS2 game came from Gamespot. They released a hands on preview with the PS4 version of watch dogs. That's why we have confirmation it's been severely downgraded.
Uhh the PC versions they showed at E3 2012 and E3 2013 had dynamic lighting, all of that is removed in the latest PS4 videos of watch dogs. It looks like an uprezzed PS3 game now.
FC3 looked fantastic, but some things changed from the initial reveal... But those were pretty minor changes. Watch Dogs on PS4 got a significant visual downgrade.
I don't know why people are expecting the PS4 to be a super computer. It's all very low end tech. A tablet CPU (AMD Jaguar 1.6ghz) mated with the Radeon 7850). The GPU was midrange over 2 years ago. These GPU will be in integrated motherboards by the end of the year, that's how low tech they are (the xB...
@Lukas so Infamous's biggest problem it's locked in the 30fps ghetto. Sad Sony doesn't see the benefit of 60fps gaming. I thought for sure they would see the benefit of aiming for better gameplay when upgrading to the PS4
I like playing third party games with ZERO concessions due to weak hardware.... Take watch dogs on ps4 it was heavily scaled down from the E3 trailer. Now it looks like an uprezzed PS3 game.... Even if the PC version receives a downgrade, the modding community will fix it themselves in a few short months.
I'm scared for the PC version... If the PC version gets that big if a scale back I might as well get it on Wii U because that PS4 footage looks like it was on last gen.
That was Nextgen... If Nextgen looks that bad they should of only advertised the PC version.
I agree he is an idiot but how is it racist?
Uhh, the game recieved a major visual downgrade from the 15 minute PS4 demo in September, let alone the amazing E3 2012 reveal.
This game was touted as a true next gen title for the last two years and now they downgraded the graphics to that of a PS3 quality game? I'm sorry, if I had this preordered on PS4 after watching that E3 trailer I would be rightfully angry
PC it is.
Until it gets downgraded to run on the PS4/xBone. What they showed at E3 was well beyond the reach of sub 2 teraflop machines.... A game like the division would peg the titan.
It's not a PS2 racer. That's Watch Dogs on the PS4. It was confirmed by Sony Denmark of being PS4
That's Sony's marketing for you.... They said 8gb of gDDR5 and every single Sony fan boy jumped up and repeated it like it meant the system is god.
Bayonetta 2 will never go multiplatform. Even if it only sells 2 copies on the Wii U, it will remain a Wii U exclusive for life.
Some people just don't understand the deal made here between P*, Nintendo and Sega.
SEGA owns the franchise, but Nintendo purchased the full rights to Bayo2, so it will stay under Nintendo's control.... Now if SEGA funds Bayo3, that could go multiplatform if Nintendo doesn't buy it as well.
Wonderful 101 is not going to sell the Wii U... The only thing that will sell the Wii U is Nintendo's own franchises.
As awesome as W101 looks, its still inescapable that the vast majority of Nintendo console owners buy that hardware for Nintendo franchises... its sad, but it is true.
Hopefully Nintendo will debate buying Platinum Games ;)
I don't see any reason why they can't push for 60fps.... If Nintendo can do 60fps with the visual fidelity of Mario Kart 8, Super Mario 3D World, DKCTF, surely this engine can pull it off.
If this engine really is that much of a slog they should use something else. I can't imagine playing a platformer at 30fps, no matter how beautiful, it can't make up for precision platforming at 60fps.
