No, new IP doesn't drive system sales, that is absurd. New IP's sell the worst by far. Established IP's is what sells the most copies... There is very few examples of new IP's selling gangbusters.... Sequels almost always outsell the original.
Producing games your fans want to see most sells systems. Nintnedo's only mistake was releasing a console without its flagship franchises... Having a single Mario game, 2D at that isn't going to build an install ...

Sony lost me as a customer, I refuse to buy a console that puts multiplayer behind a pay wall. I refused to buy an x360 because of this, It would be pretty hypocritical to accept it now because Sony is on board now.

@Ashen GDDR5 has latency issues. ... It has its purpose of course, it can move large amounts of data quicker than DDR3, but suffers when moving small amounts data in multiple files.... I'm not buying an xBone, nor a PS4 so I don't have bias to one technology over the other, but having a little bit of both is optimal.. Like in a PC.
By having both DDR3 and GDDR5 developers can balance and optimize how data is shuttled through the system. I'm eager to see ESRAM/EDRA...
Assassins Creed definitely needs a break.. Part 3 just felt like a chore to get through after the 7th sequence. I had to will myself to finish it instead of being compelled by fun to finish it.

This author is delusional. I have only read glowing praises from indie devs about how easy it is to work with Nintendo.
Nintendo isn't charging them for patches, heck Nintendo has been giving out Wii U dev kits to indie devs (also providing unity engine 4 with every kit)

Mass Effect sold less than 10k copies. NFS:MW sold less than 20k. Its pretty obvious Nintendo gamers don't want EA games anyways, so its not like they are going to miss anything.... Nintendo gamers tend to like more substance in their games besides crappy sports games and dudebro shooters.

The games are just fine. I have logged over 200 hours in Monster Hunter 3 so far I haven't even touched my ps3 since getting it, aside from watching bluray movies with my wife.
It has tons of completion.... I completed ZombiU, Assassins Creed, Mass Effect, Batman Arkham City, NSMBU.... The games aren't so difficult that you can't complete them, you just need to play them to complete them.
