"Console Market Growth Is Stagnant Since 6 Years"
Hmm that's around the same time you pushed the industry into a subscription model... thus destroying the profitability of your own platform and causing the first stagnation of the industry in an industry that has seen constant growth for 40 years.
Take note Phil that it's your platform that is struggling the most, where sales of software have become practically non-existent, and profitabi...
It'll take another 14 years to pay back the investment in getting the game to run for the 2 people left on xbox. I guess that's why they have to pay for gold just to play the game. Xbox is the worst place to play FF14.
Hopefully maintaining the xbox version doesn't take money that could have been better spent on the game itself.
Both PlayStation and Nintendo (in its final year of the Switch) outsold xbox 4+:1 last year, far worse in software sales.
Obviously xbox poor performance is why Microsoft has to make these moves.
Heck after Microsoft tanked sales on its own platform with its subscription focus it's not unlikely that these games sell more on PlayStation and Nintendo than they did on Microsoft's own platform. That is clearly actually what Micrsoft is hoping, that ...
A week ago xbox fans were boycotting Microsoft over news that games were going to other platforms.
So uh, lick that salt off your cheek.
ApocalypseShadow
I couldn't have said it better myself, 100% agreed.
They wanted a wider portfolio, and they were not abandoning single player.
And it's unfortunate that people didn't even give them a chance. PlayStation makes great games, if PlayStation is going to make GaaS game they are going to make sure it's a great game.
They were criticized for not having any multiplayer or GaaS style games, the...
Actually, my track record on long term predictions is incredibly good.
Let me explain the basic principal here.
Microsoft is not doing this to benefit Nintendo, they are doing it to benefit themselves.
Anyone who believes Microsoft is setting themselves up for disappointment.
That's a very short term view.
It's unfortunate that Nintendo is allowing this, the only way the pressure campaign could work is if Nintendo would stand up against Microsoft and see them as the rivals they are. Letting themselves be used as pawns, Microsoft will turn on them in time.
Typical, you write an article that correctly states that he is talking about PC, then you go directly into the comments to misinform people about what you just wrote.
And you're not the only person who can read Japanese. He does not say anything about xbox or Switch in the entirety of his message. You are just saying what you want to hear and what you want people to think.
The Microsoft agents on the web are going hard into a pressure campaign to m...
People complained that Microsoft was paying to keep a series that started on PlayStation off PlayStation, and they weren't even publishing it. It's a false equivalency argument your making.
Helldivers PlayStation owns the IP
Rise of the Ronin PlayStation is publishing
Stellar Blade PlayStation is publishing
Final Fantasy 7 was originally a PlayStation game and literally only 2 of the 16 main Final Fantasy games have launched on xbox same ...
Well... that's not actually an argument I agree with.
Creativity has nothing to do with a mature content, I play plenty of games that are not M rated that I find to be extremely creative.
While I prefer that it's M rated, it's not really that big of a deal.
"First, Sony gets 30% off the full price. The cost to them is a massive fraction of that."
If you want to try to nitpick like that Sony Steam Nintendo ect. don't get 30% either most services have a sliding scale based on sales. And besides that it costs Sony money to host the files and maintain them on their service. And regardless of percent Microsoft gets more than Sony, end of story.. Make a real argument don't try to nitpick what I say.
"Hey, I hate it,"
No, you encourage it. You are encouraging it right now.
"Theirs. And, guess what, their share holders will force them to sell those purchases to make back losses and to focus on more profitable areas of the business. Microsoft isn't just willing to lose money over and over when they're hurting primarily themselves and their bottom line. Sony and Nintendo aren't reliant on Microsoft still."
Where is my option to play Starfield or Hellblade 2 and whatever other games Microsoft makes exclusive that would have been multiplatform, on my PlayStation?
What you're saying is not what Microsoft is doing.
Microsoft doesn't deserve more than zero percent market share. And certainly it's not Sony and Nintendo's job to help Microsoft get market share, that is crazy talk.
Thirty percent is less than the seventy percent Microsoft is getting, and Microsoft is selling them something they would have gotten if Microsoft didn't buy up publishers, which they are now using to ransom and bully Sony into doing what they want.
And you call me petty in th...
The only thing I want from Microsoft is stop making xbox and competing with Sony.
Thirty percent is nothing compared to how much xbox's existence costs them.
Microsoft is taking 70% and using that money to undermine Sony in every way possible, this whole thing is a con to undermine Sony, you're in an article calling for Sony to give up its software and other advantages.
Microsoft gains FAR more than Sony does by having their software on PlayStation and Nintendo consoles. Sony and Nintendo should not make it's business be h...
Why is a game getting an M rating a big deal? It's not that uncommon at all.
Personally, I prefer that it's a game for adults. I'm really looking forward to this game.
It's not profit that drives them, it's control, they want to control gaming the way they control PC.
