And the 360 and PS3 don't have their fair share of pirates? Lets apply that "only a small percentage of pc gamers have high end ready rigs" statement that's passed around and compare it to two cheap now easily modifiable platforms with similar hardware with games made and optimized for their specifications. I'd say since pretty much any and every game on either platform can easily be run on those systems due to their specifications, both consoles would be more susceptibl...

@SeanScythe

Which is why I said many more were missing. This is some list I pulled off google. I have no latest list of exclusives laid out for this year on a jpeg. Expect to see an updated list in the future following E3 this year. As for DayZ there is no confirmation to that, only an old wishful Q/A statement from Dean with nothing solid to support it since.

The amount of exclusives still dwarfs the competition, which is the point I was making.

Well technically he's not wrong. PC does have more than triple the amount of exclusives from last year and this year coming out. That's a pretty good indication on what developers want. Though it's not surprising that developers would prefer an open platform that has more freedom and no financial counterproductive update fees to deal with.

It was not a new engine, it was nothing more than a heavily modified Gamebryo engine with better rendering rebranded with a different name. In Skyrim's credits you see "portions of this software are copyright of 2010 Emergent Game Technologies", which is the company that produced and licensed Gamebryo unitl late 2010. The same engine used in Oblivion, Morrowind, Fallout 3 and New Vegas.

I'd be more concerned if I had more agrees, usually it's the overzealous ignorant fanboy hivemind that get those in stacks on this site. In this case I'd chalk it up as people too ignorant and insecure to understand what little this game demands from the hardware it's on, and somehow this being an achievement is somewhat laughable for anyone with even the slightest technical know how.

Also, my laptop is a Samsung Series 7 Chronos with a GTX 550M.

No surprise, the game is hardly demanding. Even my laptop could probably run this with similar or same results. Still good that PS4 owners can enjoy this awesome game.

We don't have to pay a monthly subscription besides whatever games warrant it, like paid MMOs for example which update content monthly. Everything else falls in line with only paying your internet bill. As for DLC, before it became the nickel and dime scheme it is now content came as large expansion packs for a cheap price. It wasn't until the sixth generation once console online services took off did that begin to slowly change. I don't see how paying for services available for f...

Yes I am suggesting that, history has proven that whenever corporations at their leisure want to bone console gamers with whatever wallet gouging scheme they can muster be it charging for multiplayer, online passes, DLC milking, fees for services free elsewhere, et cetera, they simply accept it and thus it becomes a standard that often tries to bleed onto others.

If only console gamers treated every other past debacle like they did the Xbox DRM. We'd all be better off.

Keeping one's mouth shut and accepting things for what they are is peasant logic. A platform with free online for a reason. GFWL died horribly trying to create the same mouth shut wallet open standard that is on consoles.

We fight for what we want, that's what makes us different.

All it took was excluding the other platform from this "definitive" edition to not make it completely redundant.

I don't understand this debate. Isn't a movie which is the combination of different arts as well considered art? What makes games any different?

I notice people compare Edward to Connor as being a better protagonist, which I assume is because of Connor's lack of charisma and self doubt. His personality was culturally rooted for the most part so it's understandable why people who don't come from a Native American upbringing were left distant from him unlike with Ezio. His character was very well done IMO, Ubisoft paid good attention to detail with the little things people would have missed, like Connor's dislike to be t...

Since when has that ever stopped them? $600 for a PS3 with Nvidia's RSX Reality Synthesizer rings a bell, the same with Xbox One being $500 with AMD hardware. Sony and Microsoft made a laughable offer and Nvidia told them to take a hike. So they both settled for AMD.

4493d ago 3 agree3 disagreeView comment

Yeah, because Neither Sony nor Microsoft could afford them. Quality isn't cheap.

PCSX2 is doing great, and the Playstation 3 was built around an entirely different architecture so it'll take some time but it's not impossible. Playstation 4 however will be far easier. Gaming history preserved at full quality without having to rely on outdated deteriorating hardware which will cease to exist in the decades that follow. It's a beautiful thing.

Atleast until it's emulated and looks exactly or near the PC build quality that all developers advertise with, proper anti-aliasing and all.

I'm typing this from 2013 and the forever that follows. PC games are as good as a player wants them to be, there are leaps and bounds to what PC gamers can do with a game to get the most out of it. They can go as far as to completely overhaul the games textures, apply ENB's, player made modifications, the list is endless. Whether you care about hindering your experience is your own problem. Don't speak as if something is a fact then sugar coat as if you're purely speaking from...

For $400 you can get a system that severely limits your experience both gameplay and in quality and nickel and dimes you with fees for services that are free elsewhere.

4495d ago 6 agree4 disagreeView comment

Don't see why that matters considering whatever exclusives offered to the player are subjective in their quality. I definitely wouldn't lose sleep over another Killzone, another Infamous or Naughty Dog's latest platformer where all you do is just climb and shoot stuff with primary focus on presentation and nothing more. Not my fault that Sony's platform does not offer games of interest to me, same goes for Microsoft. I'll eventually pick up a PS4, but there's no rush a...

Such an ironic response coming from someone who wished those replying to not be childish about it. That's twice you've made yourself look like an idiot. Kudos.
