It's laughable to think a phone will outperform a console of the same generation. None of these articles have considered advancement of other technologies that could be implemented in consoles and impossible on phones and and even portable game systems, this will always be the case as consoles are bigger and have more powerful dedicated hardware.
John Fucking Carmack stated that the Vita will be able to perform(level of visuals, physics) better than phones of equals specs due to its ability to be programmed with lower level API's. Phones having more RAM is bullshit anyway, the OS footprints and CPU overhead are huge.
A gaming console is a computer, but a PC is not a gaming console.
It doesn't need a whole lot of memory, it's a dedicated gaming device whose OS has a small footprint, it's not Android or iOS. 256MB is a lot considering PS3 developers have done a lot with that amount, even if they utilized the 256MB system RAM, do you really think Vita games will require that much video memory given the significantly lower resolution and weaker specs.
Death penalty!! We suffered a month of no Playstation network
Bye life :(.
If 3G is part of some plan, I'll get the wifi and wirelessly tether to a phone.
I'm on 362, been watch for a couple months and I'm addicted.. I'm going to slow down so I have something to watch when I'm bored. I would like a One Piece game for the PS Vita.
What about VRAM, surely 256MB is not shared....
Not really.
Yeah but the article is talking about GPU's.
Clock speed does not mean performance, that graph looks like it would be based on misguided clock ratings of all the systems with disregard to every other aspect of a processor that drives its performance, not even one mention.
wow wtf, April Fools is a week from now.
I've never built a computer from scratch and even I knew about sandy bridge since 2009 maybe even 2008. Been wanting to build one but I'm still holding off until I have enough money to spend at least $1400.
Can't go to videogamer.com..
Always thought R3 as a scope blows, I prefer the way COD uses it, with the L2 button with toggle off. I think most console games only try to use all the buttons on the controller when they don't have to, for a good portable fps experience, the NGP has enough.
right?
Who doesn't?
You mean like PC games? If anything it's harder for developers to limit themselves in terms of power. Xbox360 is easy enough to develop for.
Is it just me or does that Yak looking f'ing real.
