Let me go more to the point.

Gamers are losers, because they feel entitled to everything, and when they don't get it (for free, no less) they act like a children, like gravemaker.

Well, most of us. I nearly neglected to add that, because I'm increasingly disassociating with games in favor of a new hobby, brewing beer. I dislike sharing this space with his ilk. But I have yet to break my fingers of the habit of typing N4G.com.

I posit the following: An 8 million lead for PS3 doesn't mean as much as an 8 million lead for 360.

Why? Do you think 8 million is enough of a difference for PS3 to become the development target platform? I mean, only a few multiplatform games, like FF13 and PS3 exclusives are developed with the PS3 in mind first. And look what that does to quality on PS3 multiplat games. Case in point, Black Ops.

What 360 lacks in outright exclusives, it gains in be...

Let's be clear here...

Ps3 and 360 have been pretty dead even in overall numbers, if not actually, then statistically. And if not "actually statistically", then because of all the countermeasures Microsoft will deploy. The difference will be hard to see, except in the minds of the most devoted (delusional) fans of ether platform.

Until you see something on the order of a 10 million lead and most third-party devs switching to primary developmen...

I don't know what's lamer: the subscription fee, or the lengths they go to to bury the cancellation and auto-renew settings.

To be fair, it's not as bad as canceling Xbox Live. You still have to call CS to do that...

I agree completely. Games are actually falling out of the public consciousness faster than anyone immersed in the "culture" will notice. I'm even moving on to a new hobby: home-brewing beer. And I find more and more... I don't miss games all that much.

Time to grow up, games. And more importantly... time to grow up, gaming-community-of-snarky-hal f-wits.

Intelligent post will be buried by ignorance.

I love N4G. It's like the Internet's petri dish.

If I buy it and stick it under a pile of towels, will that red-ring Sarah Palin, once and for all?

"Strangely, this is almost always done to the 360's advantage"

Proof? It's not too much to ask that you back up that claim and prove that doesn't happen in reverse. It looks like you have over-thought this plenty so I'm sure you could dig up some telling numbers.

I'm not going to argue semantics....

Ok, I will. :-)

73.4 is above 73.3, where I would say low stops and mid begins, the second third of the 70's. But only by a hair.

Not yet. Coming this E3: Wii Sports Play Fit Music.... Plus Plus! With one new mini-game. Guaranteed million seller.

The top 20 rated titles on 360 vs. PS3 according to Metacritic put 360 in the lead with a 93.85 to 93.25.

That's pretty much dead even to me.

I'd like to know where your data comes from... and why it's covered in poo.

Edit: According to the rules of the Internet, every disagree I get for these facts decreases 360's score by .05 </sarc>

I don't think this matters a whole lot. A statistic like this is pretty meaningless for either side. I'm not sure a higher average in the mid-70's vs low-70's is all that noteworthy of a difference... or anything to celebrate. Neither am I convinced that a larger quantity of games makes a superior system if it doesn't raise the quality higher.

The convergence of quantity and quality is what we want, and this statistic gives us neither.

Depends how you look at it, but yes ultimately. Everyone is always going to disagree on how evil Microsoft is, in my opinion a laughable suggestion in the least, and that's going to decide which side you're on.

Or whether you take a side at all. More PS3 users are more likely to take a faux-moral stance against Microsoft.

Or you could subscribe to my earlier theory: you just like ____'s controller more.

I'll tell you exactly what happened. In general and in detail.

In general: Microsoft hate and the ensuing arms race of ever increasing stupidity.

In detail: Everyone started hating on Microsoft for being a business and making money. Where that started is outside the scope of this discussion, but suffice it to say, it's completely irrational to pick Microsoft out of the other worthy targets for "evil corporate overmind".

Let's put it this way.

OFFICIAL means they know where their bread is buttered. How do they become official? By being of some value to the platform holder.

The willful ignorance in here is devastating...

They are made by another company for one reason: publishing magazines is not one of their core (Qore?) competencies, whether that's Sony, Nintendo, or Microsoft. As a business, you tend to avoid markets where you don't have spe...

Official. Playstation. Magazine.

Would you trust a non-biased review of an Xbox exclusive from Official Xbox Magazine? Of a Mario game from Nintendo Power? These days, about all I trust for a review is my own two thumbs and an hour with a game.

We talk a lot about paid shills in this industry, but these magazines are the worst. They're also the most obvious.
