A trademark means nothing. You need to own the IP in order to make it exclusive or have any say in what platform it appears on. Only Kojima has that right and Kojima Productions have already expressed interest in putting the game on PC after PS4. Let's face it, PS4 fanboys want it to remain exclusive for their list wars. It's sad.
The amount of people who don't want this game to go to other platforms is sad.
Not owned by Sony at all, merely published on PlayStation. Kojima owns the IP.
And for those saying that there is no mention on a PC version and therefore none is coming; that is no evidence at all that the PC version is cancelled. Merely that the PC version is not being talked about, likely due to Sony not wanting it to be talked about before the PlayStation version comes out.
Sony is publishing the game on PlayStation only, it will still go to PC self published.
It was announced at the very start that the game would go to PC after the PS4. Anybody who thinks Kojima is contractually obligated to keep it a PS4 exclusive because it using the Decima engine doesn't realise that the engine was given as a gift from Guerilla Studios to Kojima Productions without any strings or contract. Kojima owns the IP and his studio has full control of what platform the game appears on. KP has already stated they want the game on PC, so it will probably go there.
I guess Truth = Salt on N4G
Is that why it can't maintain 4K in "4K mode" and can't lock 60fps in "Performance mode"
The game is neither 4K locked nor 60fps locked.
True 4K™
PC version is still way ahead of the X version. Better settings across the board, uncapped framerates and mod support blow the X out of the water.
Well the consoles can't get a locked 60 so I know which one I prefer.
Nope Xbox doesn't have 4K60, 144hz, mod support, highest textures and assets, Gsync/freesync, highest quality shadows, lighting, AO, anti aliasing and Hairworks, highest draw distance, and overall clarity that the PC has. Also Ansel support on PC is very nice exclusive feature.
So you are saying that mods, higher quality textures and assets, better shadows, better ambient occlusion, better Hairworks, higher framerates (above 60) and native 4K60, are all trumped by HDR?
Cool story bro...
From the streams I've seen it drops well below 30fps too, even on the X.
I'm not happy that the Government had to intervene but the gaming industry is clearly incapable of self regulating its own greed.
Dynamic Checkerboard "True 4K"™
Lots of sensitive console fans here I see. Having now seen the art style of this game I can see that having that much RAM will do little to nothing to help the developer. Hardly a demanding game.
They already had that power on PC, I don't see what the X brings to the table that wasn't already there.
No Sony do not own the property. Kojima Productions owns the IP and Sony have only registered a trademark to prevent others from using the name. KP have already expressed interest in a PC version after the PS4 release. So don't be upset if it actually happens.
