"It's so reeeeal."
I don't quite understand why they can't just go ahead with the PC beta and allow themselves more testing time for that platform. Are they contractually obligated to simultaneous beta or something?
14-16 maps is great, but 3 weeks after release you'll only be playing on 7-9 maps because the others will end up getting skipped all the time.
I pray that I'll never have to hear a whiney kid yelling " VETO! VETO! VETO! " in a lobby again.
This may come as a bit of a shock, but I'm pretty sure EA doesn't want people to trade in their games. That's why they do online pass (recover losses from used sales) and I'm sure that's why they opted for this method of beta distribution. It's a big " F-U " to people who deal with resellers.
I totally agree that it's a dirty move, but they're going to do what they can for loss prevention.
On the other hand, had they...
1. Why wouldn't you count handheld and download only titles? Not being on disc or not having current gen graphics doesn't make it any less milking.
2. I see where or you're trying to go with this, but it doesn't matter how recent. Mega Man is an all time milking list-topper.
Number 1 should have been Capcom for Mega Man AND Street Fighter.
I read somewhere that the playable area for land and infantry was going to be reduced, but jets can fly all the way out as far as they can on pc. The jets would otherwise run out of room too quickly.
While I've grown tired of what CoD has become, I totally agree with what you said. CoD has absolutely popularized the FPS genre beyond what Rare did with Goldeneye and Bungie with Halo.
The only thing CoD ruined was itself in the eyes of people who loved it for it's attempts at authenticity in the days of the Big Red One. I don't think anyone can argue against the fact that CoD has moved toward a Hollywood story and arcadey (fast paced) multiplayer experience. No...
Thanks for this. :)
Nevermind.
Almost 1 US mile. Sounds good to me. :)
This is going to work one of two ways.
1. Campaign disc + Multiplayer disc
2. Install disc + play disc.
The latter, which seems to be more common with 360 games, would make the mandatory install argument moot.
I'm not sure why people hate mandatory install anyways. It often means the game runs better than not installed. If memory is an issue, just uninstall a game you aren't playing.
I'm getting this for the PC, bu...
Blasphemy!
I believe it was Mortal Kombat who said, " Choose your destiny! "
LOL.
Really though, I don't see myself spending another 60 usd on another CoD.
I'll keep and continue to play MW2 and BO as well as BF2142 and BF3.
Way back when Bad Company was released, I think there was a rumor or possibly some random statement made about Frostbite only working on consoles. I think this is where he's getting the idea from. Bad Company 2 is on the PC though so, that comment was a little late.
When Half-Life 2 had come out, I remember playing with the source mod tools. I couldn't program to save my life, but the draw for me was the ability to create maps from scratch. I started to create a map based on the design of the school campus I was attending, but I never even got close to completion. I'd love to give it another go with a BF3 tool set now that I'm done with school.
I think they do it on purpose. Kinda like saying those who hit disagree do so because the truth hurts or they're hating. If you look at it with that frame of mind, it makes sense. Still douchey, but what can ya do.
On topic, I ended up getting portal 2 on xbox cause PSN was down at the time. I guess ill check out steamworks with the next supported game that comes out.
I agree. I remember simply burning through the campaign on MW2 and skipping all the story parts. I'm still only part way through the story on Black Ops. If I were to pick up MW3 I probably wouldn't even touch the campaign unless there was avatar unlocks or something worthwhile.
Does the disagree mean you hope under 900 can't be accomplished?
BiPod + acog + suppressor on a pistol. Make it happen Dice!
Seriously though, can't wait to play this. Hopefully I can build a worthy pc for under $900 (minus the DVD drives, keyboard, mouse and monitor I already have.
GT fans hoping Turn 10 gets it horribly wrong.
I enjoy both games thoroughly so, I hope T10 does a better job with the Top Gear license.
