There are still journalists and gamers defending them now....which is incomprehensible to me.
Sometimes I think its actually EA people creating accounts or something.
What you say is exactly my point.
I know that threats are not good...I think everyone knows that here. I wasnt defending it. But making a distinction.
Its the internet...people run their mouths all the time. Almost everyone whose been unpopular in the internet or too popular has received death threats. Its not news really and detracts from the actual issue.
It also makes it seem like the whole issue of pay to win isnt that big of an issue when it is.
<...
Just look at path of exile devs...cant believe that game is free to play.
Its insane.
Typical EA.
We've reduced the cost of heroes....shhhh dont tell them about the amount of credits earned.
You know theyre being sneaky when they dont mention a change as big as this that is in direct relation to another change theyve made.
Did you honestly expect a better campaign? EA is not one for actually caring about the games.
Did you play the multiplayer though? Cause loot crates isnt really the issue...its what is in them and how the multiplayer is balanced around them. The the lootcrates only had cosmetics there would not have been any kind of uproar or at least about as much as in other games with lootbox cosmetics.
Except he is spreading misinformation himself...BF 2 is not like other games with lootboxes.
Its a pay to win model.
Before you say you can earn everything in game without paying...keep in mind that doesnt stop it from being pay to win. Pay to win is a model where a player can use money to give himself an edge. Either faster progression...better stats...whatever it may be.
The misinformation with regards to specifics is EA's own fault...they ...
"I have been able to play my games as if they didn’t exist and not feel slighted. Metal Gear Solid V, Battlefield 3, 4, Hardline, and 1, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, and so on were easy to ignore because they had a negligible impact on those who didn’t purchase them. The only two that come to mind that really ruined the experience was Warface, and Evolve… those are good examples of what NOT to do. Star Wars Battlefront 2 happens to be no different.
Before you freak out,...
Theres a ton of information out there. It all seems like a lot to take in...but we must take into account that EA has already changed some things in the game....so all numbers, all predictions all assumptions are completely useless...EA can turn around and make another change that skews our predictions.
They already reduced the amount of credits needed for heroes...but there are reports that havent reached everyone where they say that they also reduced amount of credits ear...
You have to take into account player skill...im sure some players had issue with Shadow of War whereas others found no issue based on playstyle.
That said...if the gaming community says something about a game...I would take heed. Gaming community isnt in the habit of lying...taking sides yes but not lying. Exaggerating a little perhaps but not lying.
Devs on the other hand have been caught lying multiple times.

Lol. Satan is definitely behind him. There will always be someone worse to take their place.
Nope. There are companies out for the fun of cresting games. Money is what allows them to continue that fun.
They don't center themselves around the best ways of making money... But instead.. The best ways of making a good game.
And as usual babies complaining about other people complaining... You forgot about that one.
No it's nothing like shadow of War. Shadow of war is not a mp focused game with a pay to win model backing its mechanics.
OT well if they're going to be discounted then aren't the reviews already irrelevant? What a way to make a game that needs to be reviewed multiple times before coming out with an actual verdict that represents the actual crappy product.
If I were sony I would distance myself from EA and this game in particular.
Well...huge difference.
Its not just lootboxes. Its specifically they way theyre used.
Not to mention MS has lootboxes in their games too...they dont get a pass either. Trangression is not as severe as what BF2 does.
It directly affects your progression and therefore capabilities in multiplayer.
It is a pay to win model. Other gamers can choose to spend more and will have an immediate advantage over others who decide not to buy these lootboxes.
...
Well...cards in games dont always make sense..conceptually.
So maybe leave cards to card games....hows that.
True. But it may be rectified in the future. And other companies may refrain from doing the same due to the backlash.
Oh... So the 8 is because they lack the imagination.
I imagine I'll never click on a game reactor review ever again.
It's a pay to win model folks. Others will get an advantage of faster progression if they pay.
Gamereactor is kissing arse or is anti gamer.
If they're changing things so drastically right before launch then we have no way of what else they'll change for better or worse after launch. It seems like they're amateur devs who don't know how to make competent Gameplay mechanics balanced.
Sad to see that you fail to see the point. Yes death threats are serious... Obviously they shouldn't happen of course... But guess what? They did. Let's live in reality for a second. Whether or not they're in fact genuine is factually important for legal and lawful reasons.
Because the newsworthy component is the Arcade mode...not the other modes.
As far as your experience...yea well the game isnt out yet. Lets see what happens when its in the hands of perhaps the people that will spend loads of cash on MTs
And unless they changed the cards and upgrades...I do believe some of these upgrades are hugely impactful like the boba fett invincibility as long as theyre raining down rockets....thats pretty big...but perhaps theyve c...
