The reason it'll be DLC is because Tabata simply cant fit it into the schedule for the 2016 release date.
For a game first announced 10 years before it released, I can't see Square just giving Tabata more time to develop. Already FF15 would have been in proper development for five years.
This isnt Tabata not caring about Nomura's vision. Nomura didn't even get close to 30% done by 2011. And it's not Nomura's fault either.

No. Versus changed to FF15 because the game known as FFvs13 was "cancelled" and its story, characters & world concepts transferred to the new FF15 project.
FF15 effectively began development in 2011. That was the year we got the final FFvs13 trailer/footage. They couldn't just transfer what they developed in FFvs13 to FF15 because it was on a new platform, new engine, with a new director.
As for why Versus got cancelled. Well it would likel...
I kinda wish the old Lara was back. True, she was sorta objectified and a bit of a sex symbol. But she was still a badass with her two guns and grappling hook. She had that suave and posh attitude about her too. Made her unique at the time.
The new Lara does seem like it's the result of trying to pander to a certain ongoing argument about representation of women in gaming.
Cloud is iconic because of the game he's from - not so much his character.
Regardless, he is a pretty great character before Advent Children made him all emo like. In the original FF7, he was a cynical somewhat witty guy.
Hope the remake will portray this.
Those screens look pretty amazing.
MGS5's artstyle is supposed to be realistic, which is why Big Boss' face shape is quite different.
Haven't finished MGS5 yet. And I've totaled like 120 hours so far :O
lol silly comment.
Capcom didn't remove the stuff because of people taking offence. They likely got a preliminary rating from ESRB and felt it was too high. So they got rid of those stuff to lower the rating and thus increase potential sales with younger audience.
Street Fighter V isn't just intended for US consumers. It's intended for an international audience. I wonder why you think having an "Arab fighter" may be offensive in the firs...
@MasterCornholio, I didn't notice much BO3 ads on Gamespot. If there are any, it's not overly massive in your face like IGN.
Hope you're being sarcastic.
Look at the massive BO3 ads on the site. And the fact IGN has rarely given COD a score less than 9 despite the fact it's nearly always a rehashed game.
This has been the problem with major AAA franchises as of the last couple of years, especially COD. It's like reviewers set up a boundary of 8.0 that it cannot go below. And for the COD series, that boundary is 9.0
Even Halo 5 doesn't deserve to be...
That would definitely be an interesting game. But do Platinum know how to develop a platformer?
i remember playing a demo at Eurogamer Expo a few years back. The gameplay was lame. Felt a little on-rails and if i remember correctly you have to hold the jump button to charge, in order to jump high.
I just wish they hand the next sonic game development outside of Sonic Team and to a respected developer. Excluding Generations, it's been too long since a great Sonic game.
LOL @ Phil32
Could not have said it better myself.
or the rate Sutherland & agent demanded was much higher than that of the other cast, and certainly much higher than what David Hayter would have got.
Feels like the game was only announced yesterday...
Well, it seems that whether this is an outstanding game or not, it's definitely better than Unity.
Not gonna lie, this got me excited.
I had made the decision not to care about the expansions after how mediocre Witcher 3's story was. Guess I'll have to think again.
you also forget the teaser from E3 2015 which was in-engine.
......downgrade incoming?
I don't think KH3 ever began development on Luminous Engine. It was always for Unreal 4 since the start.
And the reason why they chose Unreal Engine 4 was because up till now Luminous is still being created and perfected (part of the reason why FF15 is taking so long).
Kingdom Hearts 3 began production in 2013. Releasing in 2017 means it would have had 4 years of development. Which seems normal for a major console jrpg game like Kingdom Hearts.

I think we'll be getting some new footage of FF7 remake in December. Can't wait.
