You have to give Valve credit for being ahead of the game for so long before its competitors joined in. And their pioneering vision to lead the future the same way Netflix did.
Reference to Chair-sama.
Uhh... the OP didn't say anything about being forced to buy it.
It seems the people who keep mentioning this point keep forgetting that it's not the issue here.
The issue is how a generation ago, developers used to release complete games with tons of unlockables included.
Now, a lot of AAA games are coming out bare-boned or incomplete and you need to pay extra for the rest of the game.
I didn't think I'll ever be saying this but it is up to the Playstation VR to save the VR market. The recent announcement of Vive's price was very disappointing.
Which normal consumer is going to fork out $800 for what is essentially a risky gamble? Also, developers need more VR sets in households in order to make a profit from their titles. If there are hardly any people owning a VR set, then what's the point of developing a game for it?

I think what Konami did was disgraceful, and MGS5 has already become profitable. Konami jeopardized the future of their franchise because they were scared MGS5 would not be a flop.
These people are mad. Every MGS game has been a major success both in game development and business-wise.
Why do you think Sony jumped at Kojima when he left? Because the man is one of the greatest video game designers in the world.
No, the isolation occurred very near to the end of the development. Before that Kojima was fine.
The problem began when (allegedly) Kojima asked for more development time after already going overbudget and past deadlines. Konami wasn't happy and instead of just saying no to Kojima, they "punished" him severely.
I don't think Origin is a significant issue, despite it being an issue for myself. There are already more than enough people dedicated to Battlefield, Fifa and other Origin multiplayer games.
It's just that Battlefront is bare-boned and EA is asking people to pay tons of cash for content that should have been in the original game. And even having all of that content does not make Battlefront a complete game. It has no single player campaign and not enough MP modes and...
Yep. haven't played a lot of Tekken. Only really played a lot of SF.
To be fair, street fighter has always been a competitive game. Most people who will get SF5 will be getting it to play against others.
I do think there should have at least been a standard arcade mode.
I guess it's because SF is more about combos and timing, than memorizing the button combinations for so many moves.
As much as this whole topic is so annoyingly pointless, the retail jiggle is actually much more realistic. The jiggling in the beta version that you also see in other japanese games does not move that way in real life.
Final Fantasy Versus XIII devlopment on PS3 began in 2006. But that got cancelled and the project was transferred into Final Fantasy XV on PS4 - whose development began 2011/2012.
@kalebninja, to be fair, the reason they removed that isn't the same reason why Ubisoft removes things. Square could add the feature to control all party members but they felt it wouldn't work gameplay-wise. Whereas, with Ubisoft, they deliberately release a demo showing stuff that would be unrealistic to do on a console hardware, then downgrade it after.
You're the only one who said anything about piracy.
I still have my copy from nearly 10 years ago.
My favourite Zelda game. But I am unimpressed by the "upgrades." This isn't like Wind Waker HD whose remaster looked fantastic.
It's better to play the original on a Wii emulator with the HD texture mod.
FF15 this year.
FF7R Part 1 next year.
Wonder how KH3 will fit in.
Hard to really answer that question. It depends on what kind of gamer you are.
The older Hitman games were always aimed at a niche audience. Absolution tried to be more accessible to many audiences. That isn't a bad thing. In fact, the gameplay was very much like older Hitman games but with the inclusion of proper cover, modern detection system, vastly improved interaction with NPCs, modern shooting mechanics. I think the only feature that might have been unanimously hate...
Well, this Hitman game is actually set before all the other Hitman games. The ultimate prequel.
But because Agent 47 actually "wakes up" at the start of the first game, in the tutorial level, I assume this is technically set during the first game. I.e. before the first game's ending.
I think IO Interactive did confirm that this Hitman game is not a reboot of the franchise.
But to answer your question, no you don't have to pl...
Always wanted to play it. But never really enjoyed the gameplay. I hear the story is pretty good though.
Type-0 had quite a bittersweet ending. The last FF game that made me teary-eyed was FFX's ending. Or Crisis Core, if that counts.
