That PS3/360 era was rough. As much as I adore them these days, man, I remember how VISCERALLY ANGRY I was when I got Asura's Wrath. THE GAME'S FUCKING ENDING WAS DLC. That shit was UNFORGIVABLE.

But these days? Except for Street Fighter 6, which has been a slow-burning dumpster fire, everything else they've done these last few years has been gravy. I've played more Monster Hunter World and Dragon's Dogma than every other game in my PS4 combined. Like, 1...

What I wanna see from Sega, in terms of sequels, reboots, remakes or new IPs:
-Virtua Fighter
-VR Virtual-On
-Phantasy Star (a new single-player one, not another PSO)
-Shinobi
-Alex Kidd
-Altered Beast
-E-SWAT
-Golden Axe
-Space Harrier
-A new Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio IP (non-Yakuza-related)
-Vanquish 2
-Binary Domain 2

A man of wealth and taste.

EA and Bioware at this point both have their names in the fucking gutter. Any announcement either of them makes, I take with a Dead Sea-level of grains of salt.

The first three games were a tribute to Romero zombie movies. Code Veronica was a tribute to gothic horror. RE4 was a tribute to Spanish/Italian horror movies. RE7 was a tribute to the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Village is a tribute to Hammer Horror.

I'd say this is par for the course. People who say this is some sort of betrayal to the series are not recognizing its history and influences.

EA: Expect Acrimony.

Capcom's been on a roll. RE7, REMake 2, Mega Man 11, DMC 5, Monster Hunter World... they've kept the hits coming and giving us a hell of a value for our buck. Here's crossing fingers they finally announce Dragon's Dogma 2!

EDIT (I dunno why the website's not letting me edit the post directly): 3. Capcom. Looking back at their output these last 5 years, Capcom's been crushing it way too hard for me not to put them above Platinum.

Solid list, bro.

Capcom's been on a roll these last few years. RE7, REMake 2, Mega Man 11, DMC 5, Monster Hunter World... And Dragon's Dogma is straight up my favorite game ever. They've only lagged behind in their fighting game division, but the rest of the company is crushing it.

1. FROMSoft
2. Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio (AKA Sega's Yakuza team)
3. Platinum

@sourOG Body horror has been a defining part of the cyberpunk genre since its inception. It's not a matter of it being voluntary or not, it's that humans, in their hubris, keep replacing body parts with cybernetics believing themselves turning "superior", but in the process, they lose humanity both physically in becoming more machine than man and in starting to disassociate from the human race as a whole.

The Cyberpunk RPG game has explored this concept si...

What a stupid fucking headline. The loss of humanity as people replace more of themselves with machine is a DEFINING THEME of the Cyberpunk genre, one that has been used for both visceral and philosophical effect.

You might as well complain there's too much stabbing in Slasher films or too many tentacles in Lovecraftian horror while you're at it, ffs

"Making bad gamers pay for their lack of skill."
Not gonna lie, that made me laugh.

Also, they should add "And making even good gamers pay to be able to beat Ghosts N' Goblins."

Johnny Sins is on the game. That means the Job System is gonna be SUPER deep.

Agreed. That's what killed Middle-Earth: Shadow Of War for the longest time. When they finally removed the microtransactions, that game turned out to be an absolute masterpiece.

Other than Skyrim, I agree with every game on that list.

Simple: the first games that come out for a new console generation since around the PS3/360 are always transitional games, i.e. upscaled games that are also available for the previous gen. It isn't until a year or two in that we start seeing the true next gen experience, with developers having had time to get familiar with the new hardware and the user base being well-established enough to merit full-time development on it. This is nothing new, we've literally seen the same situation ...
