I'm excited for it being made on REngine. REmake 2 runs so well on my vanilla PS4 it borders on witchcraft, which shows the engine is incredibly well-optimized.

I don't think there'll ever be a difficulty slider. The game already has multiple difficulties: NG is Hard and NG+ is BALLS Hard, lol.
I 100% agree with you that this is the best game yet in terms of accessibility and newbie-friendliness, though. The game has so many little quality of life details that add up to a much more pleasant experience overall.
I think the review itself is intelligently written and makes valid points, but the actual score doesn't reflect the review. From the review I'd say it scores a 5 or 6 at the highest, but a 2? A score of 1 or 2 to me should be reserved for games which are functionally broken and unplayable, like Battlefield 2042.

@FlavorLav01 The Souls games' narrative and lore have always been secondary, though, and more important for setting up the mood and ambiance of the game than for any sort of storytelling purpose. Sekiro is the only Souls game where there is any resemblance of a coherent story and purpose, and that's in big part because the player character is an ACTUAL character and not a player-created cypher.
