yep, in my circumstance that falls under "fair use" and the eula refers to psn access.
also under the dmca (while at the moment only refering to cell phones) allows one to legally root/jailbreak their phone so they can install legally obtained software, and to modify it for better performance/more features. why should this be limited to only phones? surely rooted droids and jailbroken iphones make it easier to pirate BUT it greatly extends their usefulness.

actually that is a reason but only when comparing single layer dvd to blu ray, but the xbox only reads the outer edge of dual layer dvds marginally faster than blu ray, which i might add has a constant read speed across the whole disk ie: the ps3 can read the inner edge of a blu ray much faster than the xbox can a dual layer dvd.

what if the person in question platinum'd a game completely offline and didnt log in to psn until completion... then all the trophies for that game would sync at the same time.

actually jailbreaking/rooting is legal when done to enhance features and/or to install software that you have LEGALLY OBTAINED.... sheesh you dont ever, ever own the operating system for ANY device.....
so it is the same situation with the ps3.

honestly i think the bans should be based on whos messed with trophies, and backup managers. not hacking in general.
if they do take this route then i guess ill have to go stock again but i would like to keep homebrew (cant wait to see what people come up with).
