I guess this is a downside of not having E3. They can just announce stuff whenever and play games if they want. I mean, they could have before, but it's kind of expected to announce the big stuff at E3.
@IRetrouk
There's always going to be a bottleneck. It may not be apparent now, but when you start maxing out the system, there's always the one thing that becomes an issue first.
Gamingbolt articles are so predictable. Quote from a dev 99% of us don't know.
A misstep is pretty minor. I don't think it's a bit much at all.
I don't understand why they chose to go with a bunch of non-impressive third party games as their first big showcase of their next-gen. There should have been a few first party titles or wait until they're ready to be shown.
I think they shouldn't have did their big first look with just 3rd party titles. Start with first party and show what they're capable of.
Requiring "In-game purchases" in the rating for possible expansions is just dumb. It isn't even in-game.
Wish I could have seen this earlier. Couldn't get the page to load all day. I finally get it up and clicked a link and error again.
You should watch the short film he did where he does actually play Drake.
That's really strange. All the periods in your post gravitated to the middle together instead of being at the end of each sentence.
Yeah, I'd much prefer 3 parts total. I don't think they will though.
They can just pick a spot to end the next part. Maybe Nibelheim or Golden Saucer. Then maybe part 3 would be to the end of disc 1.
FF7 was already pretty linear until you got the airship. I think the world and paths will open up a bit, but won't really be open until later as there's just no need for it.
I'm hoping that they can cut back on some of the padding that was in part 1 such as some of the generic side quests and overlong sections to focus on the stuff they need to cover and expanded story elements.
Sephiroth wasn't playable in the original, I doubt they'll make him playable this time either. I'm guessing he'll be in the party but not controllable.
Edit: remember, the early part of outside Midgar was still pretty linear. I'm sure the areas will open up a bit, but not really be open until much later.
Why would you put that as the image for the article?
@Spurg
"First off Barret's one was pure nonsense and the framing made sure that it didn't look anything shocking. President shinra's one was not gruesome at all, as the scene was going on I was wondering when will he get stabbed...and he did in a predictable way."
I agree that it was better the original way, but my point was I don't think they changed it because of age rating since seeing two people run through with a sword is worse than s...
"Also they removed on of the most iconic scenes with the president being found with a sword impaled in him. I guess square wanted a low age rating for the game."
But showing two people getting run through with the sword is ok?
As far as the bloody mess, we got the glowy purple stuff. I don't think it really had anything to do with the age rating.
A change that really puzzled me was what they did with Wall Market. All the pieces...
Last one took me a while. It looks like most were saying they spent an hour on it, saw some saying 2 before finally beating it. I was probably about 45 minutes. Gotta be perfect and not rush. I won 45-46. Saw some say he will sometimes only get like 38, but I never saw anything lower than 42.
You don't think finding children around town or lost cats is filler?
Including the side quests, it is 40 hours. Part of recreating certain events requires side quest completion.
Thanks Captain Obvious.
