It's not about being too short. It's about adding pointless generic sidequests. If you want to add something, add something meaningful. To be fair, they did quite a bit of that and I've enjoyed it, but they didn't need to add the generic fetch stuff.
Finding cats or missing children is fun?
The stuff they've added that ties in with the story? Great! Random stuff helping people out that has absolutely nothing to do with the story other than to help people and is generic filler stuff? No thanks.
I also really enjoyed seeing parts that we know happened but never saw in the original.
As a huge fan of the original, I quite like the game. Would I prefer something more faithful to the original? Hell yes. But this is still pretty damn good and I'm nearing the end and there's only a couple things I don't care for, mainly the side quests that have nothing to do with the story and how much we've seen Sephiroth already.
Man I'd love a photo mode for FF7R.
They might lose some money on the console itself, but they're not making money on PS+ by putting games on PC.
@Daz
I don't think it's mostly just hate. I think it's more "I'll believe it when I see it." Yes, they've made a lot of steps in the right direction, but we don't know where they'll stop yet. Will these new 1st party developers pay off or will it be Rare all over again?
@sprinterboy
Plenty of develops did mind. Developers showing stuff that isn't a part of the big conferences gets buried and hardly anyone notices. Have you noticed how many trailers have been released in the week or two prior to E3 the last couple of years? They're trying to get their stuff out ahead of the huge mass of gaming news so they don't get buried. If there's not a big central event to attend, there's no reason for many companies to line up and announ...
I like that the share and option buttons are a little closer to where they're more easily reached.
People are talking about the mic, but does it still have a speaker as well?
Problem is no one would really want to do it around the same time. They want their news to have a time for its own, otherwise stuff gets buried.
So much this. I never went to E3, but it is one of the most looked forward to events of the year for me. I watched all the big press conferences, took a couple days off of work to catch interviews and more news the first couple days of the week. I loved it. Seeing E3 in decline really saddens me.
Two tone really drives me nuts. I'm guessing the console is going to have a similar color scheme.
I don't think the rest will be as stretched out.
The Kotaku review claims to have finished with all sidequests in something like 37 hours.
Not treat employees and customers like shit would be a great start.
@porkChop
"We were told to aggressively upsell every single customer. I'm talking pushing 3-5 upsells per order. That pushed *a lot* of customers away. Head office didn't care."
Exactly this. This was a large factor in my original attempt to boycott the store. I had the PS3 and Wii pre-ordered, extra controller for both and I think one game each. I went in to a Midnight release for Final Fantasy XII and when I went up to the counter, the dude p...
I don't think it was entirely their own fault. 90%? Maybe. Being a store that relied entirely on physical media in a world that is shifting to digital isn't exactly an easy business to keep going.
I hope they add a normal difficulty to classic mode.
Have you done the pull-ups yet?
