The game launched basically finished last week. How long of an early access there was is irrelevant. It's just a paid beta that people can join in on if they want.
Why do you think you needed to restart? Were you trying to fight your way through and wanted to redo earlier choices to talk your way in? If fighting, you can go do something else and level up a bit, or use strategy to your advantage. There's rafters you can climb up on and do ranged attacks for a bonus. Position yourself so when they do get up there, you can shove them back down (and prevent yourself from getting shoved off). Also, save often. F5 for quick save.
I love just how many options there are in playing the game. I quick save all the time so I can reload when something goes wrong, so I ran into this one ridiculous scenario that I figured I'd let play out to see how bad it gets and just reload. It kept giving me the option to back out as the situation got worse and worse, and it reached the point where it seemed like there was going to be permanent damage to my character and was probably going to have a penalty applied, but then last sec...
Played early access for a bit over the years. I can't get my head around how anyone could play it with the controller. It seems like it'd need a reworked UI or something.
Typical over-reactions. I'm probably 40 hours in, and while there's very clear flirting, it's easily avoidable. I had a kiss with one and made out with another. Maybe a grand total of 5 minutes of game time for that out of 40?
They're removing the game version number always being on the screen.
I was going to mention the AC thing. Using popular games to add some educational content is a good way to get people interested in something they might not want or able to. I can see how an interactive medium like AC would be much easier to access and more interesting than say, going there and visiting the ruins or just reading some text in a book or on a website.
No preload. Let's see how long this is going to take to download.
"The season 1 mechanics season of the Malignant content"
That's free content for everyone.
What paid seasonal mechanics?
I think I stopped about then too, but really though, I got a lot of hours into the game that I enjoyed well enough. More than many games I've played the last couple of years.
and run even better.
I can just imagine the peoples heads at DF exploding. I'm pretty sure it was mentioned in their last direct that it still hasn't been cleared up. Not sure if that was console, PC or both. It's going to be fun hearing their reactions to this next week.
There's no "add RAM" slider.
The game may look simple, but there's a fair amount of detail there and it can really tank the FPS in some situations with a bunch of fire effects going off at once.
I get the impression Larian really wants split screen there, but I think MS is pretty much stuck having to force S and X having the same features. I think the game should release without split screen on Xbox on both until it's working and then patch it in later, unless MS is the ones really pushing for it having to be there at release because it's on playstation.
Not sure why they wouldn't just release it without split screen on Xbox until they can get it working and patch it in later, unless this is a thing where MS won't allow that because it's included on PS.
You keep saying that, but they just announced the app is being shut down a few days ago. How in the world is this old news?
@Concertoine
Thanks. 4K HDR is what I run but it's probably been close to 2 years since I captured anything and only like once or twice.
100K seems like a bit of a wild under-estimation since they had 2.5 million people buy into the early access, which I think was a few days before the release date. I'd expect it to be a fair bit higher since it seemed like people were cashing in on the free digital deluxe edition for pre-ordering.
