It's not really an update to the anti-cheat system. It's the actual implementation of it since on PC, it's the admins that're supposed to keep their server clean.
GFWL will be another blow.
Surprised that it didn't mention DeusEx. That game has some shoes to fill.
... so... more heroes?
Just as long as the sequel numbers don't get as ridiculous as FinalFantasy's.
Cheating is another form of trolling.
Some people just get a kick out of making others rage over a video game.
I find hackers fun. It's like a boss fight. Gives me a challenge. Then I rcon the bastard. >:(
^ Thing is though, with proper identification, you can deter people from hacking since no-one really wants to be banned from the game.
When anyone can play, they can douchebag all over the place and worst come to worst, they'll have to make a new account.
... but why would anyone fix the problem when the market just accepts what's being dished out?
The rewards system IS a factor for CoD's success. I know many unfortunate souls that have never touched BC2 after getting all the unlocks/platinums, and of many more that play CoD solely to level up and prestige and do it again.
If a game releases that doesn't have XP rewards popping out of the wazoo along with the other bells and whistles will get shot ...
As many as it takes to empty your wallet... assuming you don't run out of limbs.
Might be hard as those things seem to cost an arm and a leg to begin with.
^ u mad?
1. Read title.
2. Post presumably witty comment about 360.
3. ????
4. Profit.
Pretty boys don't last long on the battlefield.
... Lower price means more customers but lower profit per customer... higher price means fewer customer, but higher profit per customer.
In business, the two have to be balanced to net the biggest profit. It's not the developpers who decide this, it's the publisher and the investors behind it.
If these companies are going for the online pass, it means they believe that their product will get bought. I'm fine with it as long as it means free DLC (as in BC2&...
That's cause crytek is generous.
They even let pirates play online for free.
=/
You new to N4G?
Just check the comment above you about LPB. =p
... Err, who's 'everyone'?
Only game I've seen being compared to KZ3 is Crysis2 (for visuals) and Bulletstorm (which was only because of their launch).
Other than that, most comparisons for FPS games are done against CoD. Seems like games are trying to converge towards some CoD-like singularity. KZ3 itself is an example when you look at the gameplay changes it did to become more Cod-friendly.
It's why the biggest KZ3 hate-spewing m...
Read his profile summary for lulz.
Though you could list those points for Bulletstorm and Homefront as well (except for the visuals bit). Just the general state of most FPS games.
I'd say the biggest sales boost is MachinimaRespawn. Homefront got positive impressions there.
Those guys might eventually become the Oprah-equivalent in gaming.
^ That's cause CoD only pleases the lowest common denominator. They don't really have any assets that shine on better hardware.
That, and well... battlefield has been a PC franchise, so only makes sense to showcase it there (and simultaneously get everyone else hyped thinking that the game will look like that on each platform)
^
It might be worse on PC since it's easier to snipe with a mouse. Homefront is especially annoying in that regard as it has hitscan auto-snipers with neglibile sway.
I've had better experience with BC2 on PC though. Recons actually throw motion sensors... most of the times. =/
Unfortunately, they're also in completely different genres. (Unless if you equate WoT to vehicle warfare in BF)
