^ So, you're going to take visuals over responsive gameplay.
Cool.
Edit @ below:
I never said that, you're simply putting words in my mouth.
I'm not saying that a game has to be at 60fps to be responsive.
Nor does a game have to be at 30fps to look good visually (you could've inferred this from my comment as well)
A game running at 60fps will however be more responsive. A game running at 30fps...
Mods don't have to be total-conversions or anything that extreme.
Maps could still be challenging... but what I usually prefer is changes to the gameplay, or custom weapon models... or skyboxes... etc.
For a multiplayer game, that's all I really would need.
^ His point was that those numbers rival modern cards... so they can't be right.
I don't think any game running at 60fps can take the crown in visual achievements... since someone can make something better-looking while letting the fps take its toll.
That being said, if there's someone that can pull off 60fps and still match visuals of the top dogs, it's Carmack. (Assuming his touch hasn't waned this gen)
Seems the guys have a lot of respect for the battlefield series (and understandably so)
I'm liking Homefront's mp so far... but their future plans better not be paid-DLC.
It's weird.
I remember seeing another review by GamerSheep as well where it was fairly positive in tone but the score was like... 2/10, yet the videos never seem to show a score.
=x
If you never play it, I feel sorry for you.
... I don't know.
EA's been throwing them around quite a bit.
I'm not entirely convinced that EA had no hand in disc-locked-maps, MoH's online, and a vietnam-based expansion.
Depends on the game.
A lot of people (the competitive ones) actually decrease their graphic settings when playing online.
Reason for that is that, in the case of an FPS for example, the lower level of detail allows you to see enemies more clearly. Decreasing the level of fog/dust effects in BC2 for example, gives you better performance and increases your visibility.
Asside from that, they might have a minor advantage by having a higher resolu...
^ How do you measure visual improvements in percentages?
For that matter, how can anyone take your word when you haven't even played those games on a decent PC? O.o
... Why does having a PS3 defeat the point of having a PC? O.o
If you're sick of this gen's graphics, you can buy those multi-plats for PC. You can still keep the PS3 for it's exclusives (which for the most part, are no eye-sores themselves).
If you can afford to buy a new console every 3-4 years, you can afford a PC.
Seeing as how he's got compiz running, couldn't he just use that to recognize gestures instead of using a new library?
He probably knows something I'm missing. =/
Could care less about piracy.
I'd be more concerned about people hax0ring their way into online games and screwing with my experience.
Erm. I thought Chrome was one of the most memmory hungry browsers.
... unless if you only stick with one tab.
If you have to kill yourself for a good cause, then go for it.
Although I would've preferred if they played JustCause instead just for the word-play involved.
Works on firefox.
Not on chrome.
For me at least. =/
"If the console version looks noticably worse than PC (especially on PS3) then that will only hurt their sales and make things ten times harder."
Errr....? O.o
Why on earth would a CoD fan care that someone with a more expensive system has a better looking game than theirs?
For that matter, when did the PS3 become such a clutch system from the CoD franchise?
It's not like DICE is shitting on the console version anyways. ...
Why do you miss that? O.o
BfPlay4Free works from Chrome last I checked.
Civ5 is dx11.
Civ is NOT an rts.
Civilization series is awesome.
Why is 'games' in plural?
On a fun note, my expression matched yer avatar while reading that comment. =(
