I'm not really tech savvy, but can some explain to me how exactly dx12 works, and if its just and update to current PC/Xboxone software which is x86 based, wouldn't the ps4 be able to get the same update as well since its the same architecture now as PC/Xbox one?
...PC is not a console. People don't compare the angry birds cell phone version to the Console version because they are totally different platforms. When I see people mention PC in console debates, I think deep down they are a little jealous , other wise it would not matter knowing they have a prettier(not always better) gaming experience. Let it go.
I think this will be a passing fad, just like motion controls and 3d. Yes, there will probably be a killer app released to utilize the full capabilities of these vr headsets. But at a $300-$500 price range. That's a little to much to swallow right now. Especially for just a add on that only uses a few games.

Lol wut! I loved my Sega Genesis. But I never lied to myself saying it was graphically better than super Nintendo. I just enjoyed the games.
Hopefully it pays homage to the the first one which is the only good one. Two was meh. Three on Xbox was utter trash.

Actually back in 95 sony developed a cd add on for SNES. But nintendo backed out of the deal abruptly during e3 creating the N64, leaving sony sitting there looking like idiots. So sony took what they learned and created PS1...then final fantasy 7 was released, RIP N64. Revenge is a dish best served cold.
