I agree, a new IP should be the breakout hit to make Game of the Year. Bioshock is definitely a contender with the way critics have been raving it.

Nah, Ratchet and Clank isn't really game of the year material, although that doesn't mean it's terrible or not epic, but you understand.

I'll follow up with this saying I bought a PS3 for Metal Gear Solid 4 and God of War 3 and every other game from here on to infinity is bonus. In the cases of Heavenly Sword, Infamous and Killzone 2, very big and nice bonuses but I'll tell you something.

This battle will HAVE to end with blu-ray. Toshiba isn't a movie producing company and thus will never have the means to totally and securely keep exclusive movies, Sony on the other hand will only make movies for Blu-Ray no matter which way the industry shifts.

That's a good point. If I recall, even Ubisoft at their event ended off with a shooter, be it Splinter Cell or Haze.
Either way, my personal opinion is that first person games (not shooters) do alot more to immerse a player. With today's console technology, that experience is taken farther then other game genres.

Mass Effect will do for the 360, what Halo did for X-Box.
Halo can chew my ass, in terms of the hundreds of FPS's I've played, it probably ranks under the original Soldier of Fortune and Duke Nukem 3d, this is real innovation.
Finally a reason to get a 360.

The combat system for that short five minutes was amongst some of the deepest in recent memory.
Keep in mind, you can say whatever you like, everyone has different tastes, but to call it shallow as if it's fact? Say it's boring, say in your eyes, it feels bland, but don't say that it lacked depth, it most certainly did not.

Say in 2008, PS3's lineup is absolutely incredible, full of games that get you excited and pumped, would you deny their quality? Would you consider getting a PS3?
