One of the things that helped nintendo with the 3ds was the fact that they dropped the price almost immediately. That proved to be a solid move for that devise and made it the success that it is today.
However, that solution is perhaps proving to be a mayor problem for the WiiU, becasue I think many would be buyers are in the fence waiting for the immediate price drop.
