If this new chapter ("download") is already on the disc, then it is a ripoff and the practice should be discouraged. Gamers regardless of their stripes should denounce such practice.
however, if it is a real download then perhaps it is not that bad. We will see.

it really is funny to hear people say MS is full of it and then defend Sony regardless of what they do.
I like both companies and know that all of them spin the info for their benefit. The problem I have is these fanboys that act like one company is good and the other is evil. I cannot stand the hypocrisy.

Sega, which was predicted by many sackboys and other so called analysts (i remember an article from 1up titled is the 360 the next Dreamcast 2.0) , then Sony would have complete dominance over the hardcore gaming market (i do not count the WII).

also, I think gandia made decent sales. It was in several systems including Dreamcast and playstaiton 2.

Deathrough yes but, you have to admit that it is a remarkable achievement for MS to be competing with Sony.. who had a 75% market share last gen. So please factor that in as well.
the point is that things are going to be even or close to even. Sony will not have the same market share as last gen, thus it is a success for MS anyway you slice it.
The funny thing is that a few years ago the same Sony fans that are nitpicking over details to downplay MS's success, would have laughed at our faced by even suggesting that MS would be competing this generation.

that is a real dilemma for Sony.
If Blue-Ray was not included they would be in a much better position in the market at this point. In fact they would probably be destroying the 360 and perhaps even the WII (read post above)
Blue-Ray makes i very difficult for Sony to cut the price.
I know that the N4G community is Pro-Sony, and they love and defend the choice Sony made in including a blue-Ray into every system. That has merit.
However, i have always felt that business wise it was too risky. The trojan horse strategy worked for the Playstation 2, inter alia, because the difference between the VHS and DVD, both in function and quality were very clear to the consumer.
Now, although there is a marked difference visually and with sound,(not so...
I think they should only publish these comparison if the difference is truly significant without using fanboy goggles, and they could help a gamer pick the best version of the game.

I do not think it is a flop. the term is too harsh.
I understand why it could be perceived as a flop, though. The problem is that the game was hyped by the fans (not so much by Sony, ironically, and perhaps an explanation as to why it has not sold so much) , and it got amazing reviews. Thus, by not selling more than a million in the first month, people are erroneously calling it a flop.
also, I think the game has legs. So it could continue selling at a good pac...
